We are at Antoine's wanting to try the nostalgia menu and it didn't disappoint. The scallop special in cream and garlic sauce was wonderful, the french onion soup perfect and the roast duck la orange fell off the bone. The accompanying broccoli had a great garlic dressing and the potato dish was perfect. Service was classy and the table was spacious and really comfortable. The wine list was rreally good too. The only let down was the caramelized banana panacotta and ice cream with macerated prunes. The prunes and fruit garnish were the best part, the rest lacked complexity and tasted really sweet like condensed milk. Sadly it couldn't be finished and there was no request for feedback re the plate that had half a dessert remaining. A plate of the duck sauce would have been fine for dessert. There are lot's of good restaurants in Auckland, if you feel like going down memory lane Antoine's won't disappoint, maybe a souffle next time.
