We stayed in the Sofitel Auckland for one night. Our room was clean and the king size bed cosy and comfortable. Room service was excellent, we got offered water bottles for the night free of charge and in the morning we ordered breakfast which came fast and was delicious. We ordered egg benedict and it came with extra danish pastry and croissant with a good variety of marmelade and honey. Friendly and always helpful staff. The reception and concercierge service went well above and beyond. We made the best expierence every staying in this beautiful location and we are definately coming back.

We stayed here for a night earlier this month. I have always liked to stay in Sofitel Hotels due to their beauty and comfort. The hotel itself is very nice looking and has all the comforts that a Sofitel has to offer. It was about a 10minute walk to viaduct where all the restaurants and a $6 cab ride to Sky City.

The rooms were large and came with a monsoon shower and spa bath. My only recommendation is upgrade to harbour view room. Our room overlooked a block of offices and with floor to ceiling glass windows I felt a little exposed. Next time my partner and I will be staying at the Sebel as it is a little closer to all the restaurants and is about $50p/night less. Still nice a place to stay.

Room Tip: Pick a harbour view - the lead in rooms overlook the Vodafone building and it's not a high rise...

We have a very full on lifestyle and our stay at Sofitel was just what we needed. Our stay was faultless and all your staff were fantastic. Many thanks
The only thing I can say is that this section in the review is too long. All I needed to say was short and sweet.

My wife and I stopped over in Auckland during her first ever trip to New Zealand. The hotel is located adjacent to the harbour; ideal for walks along the waterfront, romantic dinners ( many, many restaurants ( recommend SOUL ) and a sprinking of pubs; all tooo convenient. A short uphill walk gets you to the tower and sipping champagne in a bar with an Auckland and harbour panoramic view is stunning. We took a short drive to Devonport, Piha and other, more northern beaches; all beauftiful. the people were wonderful; everywhere. Sofitel does a great breakfast, the bar is cosy. Note to Sofitel; I was having a cappuchino in the coffee shop and unfortunately were asked to move on as they were closing at 3pm; albeit very politely, but hardly 5star treatment. ( Very very minor thing that Im sure could be fixed.)

Room Tip: The hotel is sorta surrounded by real estate so I'm not sure whether some rooms get a water &quo...

Beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms. Very clean and nice views, as well. We only stayed 1 night but I would return without hesitation. Easy walk to the city center and harbor. Stylish and modern interiors with excellent bedding.

First visit to Auckland in over 10 years and, having read the reviews of this hotel, wanted a little bit of luxury. And we definitely got that. First up, it's a gorgeous hotel, as one would expect from a Sofitel. The staff are polite and friendly, the room was lovely and clean - and relatively big - and the bathroom was huge - huge bathtub, huge shower, plenty of space. Loved it. What disappoints me about a hotel with this reputation is single beds for twin share accommodation, rather than double beds - but per other stays with this group of hotels, the bed was extraordinarily comfortable, as were the pillows. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't rate that. Location - great for walking along the harbour and only a few minutes walk to the very vibrant restaurant scene down there, whether you're eating for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Around a 10-15 minute walk to the middle of the city, but didn't mind being on the outskirts. And the complimentary bottle of champagne my sister and I received was great. Very unexpected, but great. The negatives? So tired of high internet charges in NZ hotels that we went and bought SIM cards from Vodafone. Problem solved. Also, I arrived really early - pre-6am off a flight from the US - and there was no one to help with the bags until after I'd walked through the foyer and almost made check in. I get it was early - but for a hotel of this standard, still surprised. Still, it's a lovely hotel in a nice location and no doubt I'll look to stay again.
