Open in the evenings for dinner Wed, Thurs & Fri with a set menu which varies each night and week to week. When you book you have to decide which main you would like, as there were 4 of us we chose two of each which was plenty for us all to enjoy. Check out the offering for each night on the website. The Onion tart was devine then choice of Rabbit or Boulibaisse (full of seafood) with salad and potatoes, followed by choice of Pear Tart or Chocolate Mousse and Tea/Coffee.
Loved the food, atmosphere and surroundings. The ability to explore and pick your wine from the vast choice of local and imported wines in the wine shop adds to the experience.
Will go again and would recommend to anyone to try it.
The market is open in the weekends and is usually very busy.

We had the set meal on a Friday night: tasting platter (Charcuterie Platter), main: duck and lamb options taken and Cherry Clatoufi (cherry tart of sorts).

The food is always and was again very nice.

We had two bottles between four people, of a very nice Chateauneuf du pape. Followed by coffee. At only $10 per bottle added as a corkage equivalent it made for quite a reasonable cost for the wine.

Four people $75 per head for three courses (I WOULD VALUE the courses as $15, $25, $12 respectively. However, the ACTUAL CHARGES are $12, $30, $12) and three plus glasses of wine for each person (usually $12-14 per glass for this wine elsewhere).
The main isn't worth $30 in my opinion but that's balanced out by the entree and dessert courses, which are good value.

It's fun and the food is tasty. Lively atmosphere with lovely staff. Take a group of friends.

We went ther during the day and mused around all the french imports in the market.
Treat yourself to a genuine Champagne from the store: Lots to chose from. Genuine Burgundy too. We booked a table for the evening, not sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly suprised by the hospitable atmosphere of an outdoor restaurant ( but indoors ) like a marketplace. The food was simplw, delicious and lots of it. The atmosphere was great

Dinner here on a Friday night. Everything went well with making the reservation which was done by email. Prompt and helpful response. The quirkyness of the place didn't work for me. The food fell within the "home cooking" category and no more. The onion tart was fine, the braised goat with madeira and raisins was surpringly dry and the creme caramel just wasn't right. All in all a bit of a disappointment because we had heard good things about La Cigale.

Amazing little place in the heart of Auckland.

Great farmers market on the weekend as well as pastries and French snacks inside as well as a couple of main hot dishes like pork belly or beef casserole etc.

Can get super busy so be prepared for queue jumpers and hunting for a seat.

The best fresh croissants and Danish pastries, literally dripping in butter hot fresh from the oven if you time it right.

Also good selection of European wines on offer as well as a fashion and home ware section selling French inspired products.

Haven't tried for dinner but is great mid week for a business coffee as it is pretty quiet.
