“Miso and Rosmary Mash”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We ate here at the recommendation of our hotel. It is a relaxed restaurant that does stonegrill (your meat cooks in front of you on a hot stone). While there was a little wait for service we were offered a complementary wine without even complaining. My partner had the 48hr slow cooked lamb shank that was melt in your mouth and accompanied by a Miso and Rosemary Mash Potato that is to die for.

“One of Auckland's dining pleasures”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

We went there for an evening meal mid-week after strolling the Viaduct Basin and checking out the locale and restaurants in the area... we chose this one for it's extensive menu and value for money, we were glad we did! There was ample seating outside and as it is winter the firepits were lit and welcoming however we chose to be seated indoors. The place was humming! There were people everywhere and the business was happening. The staff were very efficient, a table was found for us quickly. I noticed that as people left the restaurant door wait staff would rush over to clean the table immediately so as to have it ready for the next customers ( a rare find these days) It was a very satisfying visit. Our food was amazing, the menu extensive and they do a stone grill speciality (cook at your table) as well. I chose the Seafood Fish of the Day and experienced an epiphany... the Hapuka steak on a gorgeous risotto was heavenly. My dinner partner had the Crispy Skinned Salmon... it was a treat!
The beverage list was great and would meet any palate or taste for drinks. Our servers were delightful, happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. I would go back tomorrow!
They do 'specials' according to the night/day you go so make sure you ask or check the menus...

“Great atmosphere great meals”
Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

We stopped for dinner as a party of eight, four adults and four children. Once inside the restaurant/bar is very welcoming and warm. Inside is dark and cosy and so easy to relax and unwind. We ordered a variety of main meals including ribs, buffalo wings, quesadillas, and items from the stone grill. All our meals were e beautiful, large quantities and delicious flavours.

We ordered from the bar wine and beer. One of the beers we ordered was not very enjoyable (at least for our pallet). This was quickly rectified by the wait staff who replaced the beer with another type at no charge. This was way beyond what we expected. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our children were all welcomed and well looked after, which as parents wanting to have nice meal it is refreshing and welcoming. Thanks very much guys, we loved our time here and highly would recommending giving degree restaurant a try.

“Still Good after all those years”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Went back there again during the V8's weekend in Auckland. The service was excellent, the food was great, the waitress, a young lady from Bournemouth, had an excellent personality & excelled in taking our order, all by memory, 12 of us, faultless. A rare find now days. The only downside was a very loud Irish bar next door but that too was "pumping", all good but we just had difficiulty talking to each other. We could have moved to another part of the resturant if we had thought about it. Next time.

“Busy and pleasant lunch or early dinner spot.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We had an early dinner one evening and enjoyed the curry special of the day and a steak. Service was quick and friendly, the meals were good value. The place was packed. A few days later we enjoyed lunch al fresco to experience steak on the hot stone grill which I am assured was excellent. The quesadilla/pizza was delicious. Again service was prompt and affable and the meal reasonably priced.
