We decided to get married in Devonport after being recommended a quiet beach overlooking Rangetoto island. And it did not disappoint.
The town itself is a fantastic little place with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. The town is relatively new, from the 60s, settled after the Auckland bridge was completed. Big, old and colonial houses are scattered around the area. It is obvious this place is from old money as the streets are very clean and the area is filled with galleries.
A must visit if based in Auckland.
