I love the ambience here, overlooking the beach. How come so fewveteries havewater views in Auckland!!
The rosti with crispy bacon , perfectly poached egg and hollandaise sauce is brunch heaven..
The Milse selection is not nearly as good as visiting Milse in Britomart... The staff are not as well trained as Ortalano, yet all are owned by the same team!! Anyway the Beach Cafe is #1 on The Shore...

Four of us had lunch at the Cafe, overall very nice experience and super friendly and accomodating staff. Food was good and very well presented. Outside seating facing the beach is excellent. It drizzled so we went inside. The staff found us a place during busy time no problems. It can be a little noisy when busy. This is because of the hard surfaces within. Hard to include for noise absorbing fabric or carpets in a well trodden cafe.

If you are looking for a Gelato experience ,this is the best in Takapuna. Lovely flavours and great choice. However,we wanted some take away food and went for the Fish and Chips, which we thought it should be better than other less pretencious places. unfortunately, it is just an overpriced take away. my recommendation stick to the gelato, that never dissapoints!

This cafe has everything going for it - great location, excellent views, excellent coffee (Allpress), lunch, takeaway menu and very capable, approachable staff. Their evening takeaway is great to pick up and eat on the beach.
But I feel it is now spoilt by their new "breakfast/brunch" menu. By this I mean 7.30am - 9.00am - too early for a full on lunch. The choices are almost too complex for breakfast and the option of adding from a range of sides is gone. Bring back some of the basic choices, otherwise its going to be just a coffee for me.

This cafe and deli has a fantastic location right on Takapuna beach with amazing views. It is busy and popular however if you do have to wait, they have a great call system of flashing lobster pagers so you can walk along the beach until your table is ready and return when your lobster flashes! The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The food is generally good and they do perfectly poached eggs however it is a little more expensive than many cafes.
