We toured with Gavin the end of February and he did his best to show us places off the beaten path where the "big buses" don't go. We saw (and participated in) a sheep show at a small, family-owned farm. We walked through a native forest to see what New Zealand used to look like. The glass-bottom boat ride was a unique experience and concentrated on education and conservation instead of feeding fish to appease the tourists. We skipped the "big city" and loved exploring the countryside with him. He was very friendly, eager to please and proud to show us his country.
