We returned to Prohibition and are pleased to say the previous standard of top quality food and impeccable service continue to be maintained. The oysters were absolutely superb and the main courses could not be faulted. The guidance of the sommelier was also appreciated. As always the decor and the musical entertainment contribute to the experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to improve the experience of our guests at Prohibition, and to be able to do so it would be helpful for us to know what exactly was wrong during your visit to the restaurant. Thank you for constructive comments.

I was treated to lunch at this restaurant - and a treat it was! My fillet steak could have been cut with a butter knife, and the dessert was a work of art. It is very dark inside the restaurant, but this adds to the atmosphere. The upstairs dining room would be an excellent place for a private function. Loved the props (hats, gloves, etc hanging from coat stands - great for photo-taking to remember the occasion.

Food was great. Not huge portions but very flavoursome.
We did find the sommelier (the owner I think) was a little pushy with wine options even after orderig what wine we wanted. And the impression our four friends got was all the same. If the customer has ordered what they would prefer a certain wine (and explained they have some wine knowledge) then quit whilst your ahead and just fetch the wine.
The food took a while to arrive. The restaurant wasn't that full either.....
Overall, good but service time a little slow and a touch intrusive. Go eat, enjoy and order whatever wine you'd like. A good selection of wines too!

While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the minute we stepped into the restaurant, the 1920s decor and live jazz took us by pleasant surprise. Service was of an okay standard (a few small issues like not remembering who ordered which dish, but everyone was very friendly and professional), but the *real* standout is the food. We had the lamb and the pork belly, and both were absolutely perfectly cooked. Highly, highly recommended restaurant if you're looking for a fantastic meal in a great environment.
