A place to get out of the buildings, get near the sea, and fresh air, but still close to good restaurants. Views of the city and harbour to enjoy. A great stroll past the yachts and superyachts.

We visited The Wynyard Quarter whilst we were staying nearby at The Grand Mecure.

This sits on reclaimed land on the Waitematā Harbour at the western side of the Auckland waterfront.

This place is being redeveloped for both residential and commercial use.

Some lovely sitting areas where one can view the Auckland skyline as well as restaurants. Located next door to Princes Wharf.

It's not easy to draw a line between Wynyard Quarter and North Wharf as they are side by side so people spill over and makes the whole area very crowded.
Worth a visit and it won't take long to cover the place.

We took a walk from the Maritime museum to the silos with a toddler. It was nice to be outside and by the water and to see some boaty things but otherwise I did not find much of great interest. The playground was also a hit with the younger member of our oarty. We had been told there were numerous art works to be seen, but many are no longer there. To my mind the things that are there are designed to attract the tourist and extract as much cash as possible. To be fair, this is done in a not unpleasant way but it was not really to my taste

Summer will be the time for this place to come out.
Restaurants are being added and the tram is running most of the time.
A bit wind swept in the winter so ends up being a thoroughfare for people in a hurry.
Lots of room for lots of people. Wide steps down to the water edge and an area to paddle or swim (if you dare).
