I was staying in the nearby Ibis hotel on Murray street , I met up with a work colleague and prior to him giving me the guided tourist tour "my 1st time in Perth Australia " of his city we decided to have a bar snack and pint in the moon & sixpence .
The M & S is exactly what it says on the tin a traditional style british pub when walking inside you would believe you were in your back home local not 9000+ miles away from the UK .
I spoke to the bar man expecting to hear a Aussie accent no it was a broader than broad "Brummie west country twang "all the way from the Black Country ........luuverlllleeeeyyyy
My mate loves a traditional beer and the M&S have plenty of old style british draught beers my new Aussie brummie even let us try some of the beers before choosing , we made are choice and ordered a Thai style large pizza to share we were given a vibrating / flashing "meal is ready " device and we went outside with our drinks "we ordered the Belhaven & Brains " for some fresh air. After a couple beer sips which were OK but not filling my head with beer from home memories the pizza arrived with a bowl of chips and we tucked in .
Not bad pizza a little bit spicy just the job ........but just a little negative and it must be the same everywhere in Perth everything is expensive - 2 pints a small bowl of chips and a pizza 54 Aussie dollars it was 12 dollars for my pint that's £7 a pint thank god I never ordered the straight glenmorangie whiskey .
I could complain but I can't Perth is a expensive place to LIve and eat so I was expecting it to be a bit pricey , the beer was cold the pizza was tasty and I was enjoying it with a good mate ........Happy days .
