been twice this month - first time visits and was not disappointed. The variety of foods was great, clean, quick service, friendly stall holders. Would come again. Need more places to sit down.

I went to the markets when they were on earlier in the year and decided on a return visit yesterday.
The stalls used to stretch along Murray St and into the space between the old GPO Building and the Myers store. Yesterday they were formed into a loose square in the open space.
Quite a lot of stools were provided, but no tables, and you could also sit on the steps of the GPO building. There was a live band that added to the atmosphere.
The event appeared to be very well attended and there was a large variety of food for around the world on offer. There was Spanish (I counted two stalls serving paella), German, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Moroccan, and Colombian to name just some.
You could snack, have a main course, indulge in a dessert or all three if you wanted.
If you are looking for hawker prices, you might be disappointed. Prices ranged from a few dollars to nearly $20.
But what I tasted, the chicken tagine and shakshuka, with couscous, a slice of crispy baguette bread with a side of harissa, the quality was pretty good. Several vendors accepted credit cards.
You can get cheap drinks from the nearby Woolworth to save a bit but it's well worth a Friday trip into the city.

The markets were recommended as a must do in Perth and they did not disappoint. It was difficult to decide on what to have as it felt like nearly every nation was represented with their signature cuisine.

Lovely street food and a few little goodies here and there. Very much worth a visit if you are in the area when it is on.
