I stayed at the Richardson for 3 nights in March and, thank God, I think Perth at last has a first class hotel! First, it is the staff that make the Richardson - efficient, friendly, knowledgable and professional. Whoever recruited them deserves a medal! Rooms are excellent (I was kindly upgraded on arrival to a junior suite), very spacious and stylish. Restaurant is superb with innovative cuisine and an excellent wine list. Location is quiet, within walking distance of Kings Park and on the doorstop of the CBD with a free shuttle bus nearby Getting around in the evening however requires a taxi. If standards are maintained, this may be one of the world's great boutique hotels!

This is a lovely fresh hotel with smooth modern decor and a very stylish buzz. The fittings in my apartment/room were of a very high standard, the kitchen was really thoughtfully supplied with high grade frozen meals and munchies and the bathroom was gorgeous with la arge bath. It is located in West Perth and is perfectly located if you are visiting on business to deal with any of the large corporates located in that part of Perth or on holidays with a car. It is however not very convenient if your business is in the CBD or East Perth. As this is a new hotel the taxis seem not to have discovered it yet. Despite valiant efforts by the staff no cabs could be found at critical times of the day. I was late for several meetings as a result. The hotel does have a courtesy vehicle and driver but staff were very slow to produce this and it had to take several groups of businesspeople into the CBD at once and drop off in a number of locations. Staff are a bit too focused on holidaymakers and need to work a little harder to meet the needs of business visitors. For example asking on checkin when cabs might be required and pre-booking might be helpful.

All up though the staff are as keen and as helpful as they can be. The restaurant is very good for a business meeting or something more social but is not cheap.

One note of caution while the interiors of the apartments are lovely try and avoid those at the back of the building which have a less than inspiring and very ugly view of the carpark. I was originally placed in one of these but staff where good enough to move me to the front which has a nice leafy local view.

This is a terrific addition to the hotel scene in Perth but needs a little work to cater to business travellers.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, can't fault it at all. We searched the internet for hotels in Perth and all of the top ones had very mixed reviews, other the this one which were all excellent (despite there only being three of them)

Its just outside the city, situated next to Kings Park, a very large park which overlooks the city. Everything is only a taxi ride away or there is a bus stop on the next street (Red Cat) which is a free bus service around the city. Another very good service provided by those down under!

The hotel is only a few months old and so everthing is brand new and spotlessly clean. The staff (especially Geoff) were incredibly friendly and the service was exceptional.

The hotel has a lovely spa, pool (indoor) sauna, steam etc and you can have all the usual treatments that a 5* spa hotel offers.

We stayed in a deluxe suite (room 712) which had everything that you could possibly need. The bathroom was spacious, very clean and the double shower was very good. Our room was cleaned in the morning and then again in the evening whilst we were out. We always had clean towels and the bed was changed daily.

We ate in the restaurant on our last night which was one of the best meals that we had in Perth. The staff were very knowledgeable about wines and the presentation of both the food and the drinks was more than 5*.

We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. It is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel in Perth. The rooms are fabulous, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the day spa is absolutely beautiful. We took advantage of their 'wedding package' which included a bottle of Moet, a spa treatment and late check (4pm!). Well worth the money and highly recommended!!

We have just visited Perth and choose to stay at the newly opened The Richardson Hotel in West Perth and would like to share my views on this hotel.

It has a great location on a leafy green street in the suburb of West Perth. If you walk to the city center, it takes you about 20 minutes, by taxi 5 minutes and there is also a regular free bus service 2 blocks away which operates every 15 minutes. It is also close to Subiaco where you'll find a lot of shopping and restaurants.
The hotel has 8 floors and we stayed in an executive suite on the 5th floor. Large living room with bar//kitchen and all amenties you can think of including wine, spirits, cheese, milk, soft drinks, microwave, fridge etc. a dining table with 4 chairs. Plasma TV, coffee table and 3 comfortable chairs. Size; about 26 sqm. The bedroom had one of the most comfortable kingsize beds ever encountered and a "pillow menu" You can order 6 different kinds of pillows just to suit you. Great idea! . The bedroom would be around 16sqm.
The suite had all necessary items you can think of, iron, hair dryer etc.etc.
We had dinner at the restaurants and it is truly a restaurant. Beatifully carpeted, linen cloths on the table, great service by knowledgeable staff serving and commenting and suggesting on wine as well as beer and the food was very good as well.
What I truly enjoy when I'm dining is that you can actually hear what your table companions are saying to you!

We also took advantage of the Spa with a visit to the sauna whilst my wife had a facial. Smartly dressed staff in very relaxing and luxurious surrounds. Expensive but well worth it ! There was also a well equipped gym but I'm not into that sort of things, more the walking and eating type! I've included some images but to get a better view I suggest you visit their website.

Compared to other hotels in Perth I would say they will establish themselves on the top!

  • Liked — The feeling of pampering.
  • Disliked — No sharp knife in the kitchen area.
  • Tips/Secrets — Make sure you book airport shuttle ( not taxi) if you are going to the airport for an early departure between 0500 and 0700. The reason: Swan Taxi do not guarantee pre bookings.
