My husband and I stumbled across this hotel when we went to their restaurant Opus that provided excellent service. Since we were not happy the place that we were staying at, we decided to switch to this hotel instead. We arrived late at night but was immediately welcomed by their staff warmly, she even helped me lift our heavy suitcases in the trolley while my husband was parking the car, and she was petite size like myself! We were upgraded to a bigger room with balcony, and was very happy with the large and well stocked kitchen - Nespresso coffee, fresh milk (free), welcome Moroccan tea together with a hand written card and chocolates on the bedside. There were also fronzen pizza and Japanese cup noodles in the mini bar, of couse you'll have to pay for those, but all these little details makes one feel warm and "at home". The room was big, big open kitchen and dining room, but we wete a bit surprised that the decor of the room did not match up with their stylish lobby. However because of their excellent service, knowlegable and helpful concierge, and their attention to details in everything including super fast and free wifi, we did not really care. We did not receive much high quality service even when we stayed or dined in 5 stars hotels and restaurants throughout our 2 weeks' vacation in Sydney and Perth, Richardson really made a big difference to us!

We have just returned from a stay at The Richardson for our 20th wedding anniversary. WOW is all we can say! The service at this establishment is second to none. We indulged in a Balinese massage for two and my husband who has never been keen on massages is now insisting on accompanying me on more regular massages. It was superb! We had booked for a package that included the degustation menu at the Opus Restaurant. The menu and the service were 5 star. Unobtrusive staff who filled your glass without asking and explained each course and accompanying wine was excellent. The next morning we had breakfast at the Richardson Cafe. We both chose the Eggs Benedict and I have to say tI am a bit picky about poached eggs and they were the best I have eaten in a very long time. A late checkout at 1pm just topped off our experience.
Although we loved our stay, on the small downside, we would both have to say the beds were a bit on the hard side. And reading the other reviews, we were both slightly disappointed that we did not receive a complimentary bottle of champagne in celebrations of our wedding anniversary. But all that said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning for other significant events. Thank you to the staff for making our stay most enjoyable.

A small boutique hotel located just outside of the CBD. From the moment we pulled up out front until the moment we left we were looked after. Service in WA appears to be something that is given lip service, these guys actually provide it! After experiencing Amercian hotels in November last year and being exposed to what service really is and realising that it is so often lacking in Perth establishments it was a real pleasure to be on the receiving end of the staff at The Richardson. I can't speak highly enough of the care and attention we received. The massages we received at the Spa were of the highest quality.

There are some rooms with balconys that out to bland office like buildingd and make you feel quite claustrophobic as was the room that we were first shown to and even though we had been upgraded to a better room than we had originally booked, we were given a room with an expansive view over Subiaco. So check what the views are like when you book, but honestly if you are non-smokers, want to indulge in an Adults only weekend away this doesn't really matter.

Sure there are cheaper places to stay in Perth but if you want great service, pampering, excellent food and an amazing wine list - STAY HERE!

We stayed at the Richardson for 5 nights at the start of our trip to Australia. It is a class act as a hotel, but unless you are doing business in West Perth it is a difficult location. We found we were staying for the Australia day weekend. Friday night there were cafes and bars open nearby, but as the hotel is basically in a business park, thereafter nothing moved! There were no cafes open again until Tuesday and we found breakfast at the hotel poor. There was a so called buffet breakfast, but very little was available.

We did have a meal at their Opus restaurant and that was excellent.

People have mentioneed the free bus service and it is true that a walk up the hill and a 10 minute wait will give you a free bus into town, but that is no way like staying in a lively neighbourhood with amenities.

We were not upgraded, but the room we were given was spacious with a kichenette and lounge. Unfortunately, like most hotel rooms the designer was probably a man, and the room could have been so much better with a little thought. The only place near a mirror to plug in the hairdryer was in the kitchen area, and we had to leave our suitcase there to support the hairdryer! The shower was over the bath, and the bath had a tiled surround. It was almost impossible for someone of 5 foot 5in to climb into the bath to have a shower.

However, all of the staff were mazingly friendly and very helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and i am happy to see that overall you were satisfied with the comfort and quality of the hotel.
In regards to the hotels location, we believe it is perfect for a hotel of our standing, no we are not on a high street but then again this is not who we are nor is it who we advertise ourselves to be.
All details of our location are easily found on our website.
The Hotel does offer a light continental buffet for breakfast, however we do also offer a very extensive A la Carte breakfast menu cooked fresh to order, with many popular items to choose from. It is unfortunate that you did not mention your preference to have a separate shower and bath during your stay as our staff would have been more than willing to accommodate with a room move. We have made a note of your preferences and certainly do look forward to welcoming you back.

Kind Regards,

Shaun Fields, Hotel Manager

We spent three nights at the Richardson and were warmly welcomed. To our surprised, we were also upgraded for free which we hugely appreciated. The entire staff is very service minded. Breakfast was very good just as the in room dinner service.

We stayed here for. 8 nights. On checking in we were shown to our room and my wife didn't like the fact that we didn't have a separate shower so we were shown another room which I was not too ken on do we said we would keep the original room. Within 5 minutes we had a knock on the door and were invited to view another room which was slightly bigger but had the seperate shower do we agreed to move to this room. I was very impressed with the service overall all staff went out of there way to assist you. This hotel is on the outskirts of Perth CBD area. However there is a free bus service (5 minute walk around the corner of the hotel) and this takes you down to the central area and this operates all day every 5 minutes up to 7.15pm. The hotel position is great as it is very quite but you are no more than a 15 minute taxi tide away from anything. If you are looking for a small boutique type hotel with 5 star service then this is the ace to stay and hence why it is the best hotel in Perth. We didn't get chance try the Opus restaurant but we did eat in the Cafe restaurant on our last night and I have to say the food was fantastic

I can't help but think that this is truly a 5 star hotel. In comparison with other so called 5 star, this place could easily rate a perfect 10. Our stay was excellent from the time we walked in to the time we checked out. Nothing was a problem. Even though the restaurant was booked out, we left our details and within 90 minutes we were sitting down. Thank you Richardson for a true 5 star experience.

Room Tip: First time stay, our room was at the back but had a great view of Perth
