We had a 2 night stay at the Richardson Hotel and Spa just before the new year. What a pleasant experience it was. We have tripadvisor and the the reviews to thank. All the reviews prove to be true!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom delux room and travelled with our 3 young kids. The facade of the Hotel was understated but once you are at the door, the service staff go full steam from helping you with the bags to making sure that check in is a breeze. The locale is quiet, so if you are looking for rest and privacy, it is just great!
Rooms are very clean and new, well decorated with nice paintings (not tacky prints), kids get a special surprise, there is a generous kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, induction, nespresso etc.... perfect for families with young children or those who prefer the option of making something for themselves.
There was free wifi and newpapers, free H2O and coffee/tea/milk.
Bathrooms were spotless and generous, toiletries were provided but was somewhat uncoordinated...loved the bar soaps.
Bedrooms and electronic amenities were all well provided for.
The view was nothing to shouth about because it is really located at the west end of Hay street.
The indoor pool was modest but nice and the gym was well equiped.
Didn't get to try the restaurant (Optus) but the menu looked tempting and the prices were really reasonable by Perth's standards.
We wanted to try the spa but it was fully booked for both the days we were there which was abit of a disappointment.
All in a great stay with great service.

I am sorry you did not have an opportunity to try the Spa or Opus and would strongly recommend booking in advance - both experiences are really wonderful. I'm glad you like our Australian-made soap - it is lemongrass and crushed lemon myrtle leaves that we have custom made for us. Wow! What a fantastic day! I attended the day spa with two friends for a full day of pampering. We all indulged in the full-day de-stress program and while expensive ($530 each) we were not disappointed. It was amazing and everything we had hoped it would be. After a quick dip in the pool and sauna, we then "de-stressed" with a salt scrub, massage and then facial. The facial itself was my highlight. Lunch was then served in a private suite and my barramundi on saffron cous cous was great. The afternoon session was a hot stone foot massage with paraffin wax treatment. Overall, it was impressive from the moment we walked into the lobby. It was the attention to detail that made my experience one that was unforgettable. It will be my 'special occasion destination' in the future. I had Maryse as my therapist and I would highly recommend her. My friends had Stella and Sarah and they both would recommend them as well.

Two separate one night stays in this first class hotel proved a winner with us - we were looking for something a little less brash and found it at The Richardson in West Perth. Close to the city and Kings Park, it is a perfect spot to retreat to and very comfortable and relaxing. The staff are first class and were always polite and helpful. The onsite Opus restaurant was superb and firmly establishes The Richardson as THE place to stay out west - well done!

Room Tip: any room is a good room - if the hotel is not full, staff will upgrade you - no noise

we enjoyed a 3 night stay and were impressed, couldn't fault service. will stay there again. nothing was too difficult for the staff and the welcome was very friendly. great to have nespresso in the room and great room service if needed. use the turn down service,great little chocolate.

The staff treated us like we were VIP staying in the penthouse even though we weren't and just staying one night.
The room was set with many complimentary items e.g lovely robes, home made tea and free DVD service. These small but luxurious items added value to the stay.
The checkout process was made even easier by the express checkout option, allowing a fuss free exit. We also ordered room service which arrived even quicker than expected. The food was of a very high standard even for just a burger. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our holiday. Everything was perfect. The room was beautiful (we got a free upgrade!) -everything you could want from a hotel room. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant. 15 mins to walk to the city centre but there a plenty of buses nearby. 10 minutes to the park. 10 minutes to the train station to Fremantle. Well worth it every penny. It was a joy to stay there. We would definitely stay again.

They simply get everything just right, with the possible exception of valet parking.
Quality of staff, rooms and service is second to none.
I often get in early from Sydney and they have always been most accomodation.
Sadly, can't afford to stay there every trip.
