Two of us went for breakfast. My wife ordered poached eggs on toast and I ordered the fruit salad. We both ordered coffees.
The fruit platter was a study in "art before substance". While beautifully presented with individual slices of kiwi, rock melon, pear, apple etc, the actual amount of fruit was insignificant and not substantial enough for a breakfast serving. Perhaps this plate would be best served as a light dessert after a dinner.
By contrast, the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, but there were 3 eggs! So once again, the logical balance and amounts were not quite right for breakfast.
Coffees were OK. Not as weak as some other places, but still lacking the rich coffee aroma and flavour. The inability of many restaurants and cafes to make a decent cup of coffee even with the right equipment never ceases to amaze me and is so so disappointing. It can be done!
The waiter was attentive and friendly. The decor was nice. It was pricey for breakfast. Would not go back.
