Review of WACA Ground

For any discerning cricket fan a visit to the WACA is a must. Easy to get too, easy to negotiate once you're there. Obviously test matches and one day games are the way to go but a nice day at a state game is also a great way to spend the day. A visit to the WACA museum is a must. A hint, take your own lunch as the food is expensive and not good value for money. An ongoing issue for the WACA. But, the cricket is why you're there so enjoy.

The WACA has been Perths premier sporting venue for cricket for decades and once a good venue for football lovers when Eagles 1st entered the AFL league but now play at Subiaco oval.
Probably the best place to watch a game of cricket besides the greatest sporting venue in the world the MCG.
Known as the number one quickest pitch in the world and a place that all the cricket teams from around the world and Australia look forward to playing on, some of the best test and one day games have been played here over the decades and is always full to capcitity for test, one day, 20/20 games.
One of the only venues left in Australia with lawned area to sit or stand to watch a great game of cricket.
Very popular on a balmy summers night to watch big bash cricket as game only takes a few hours.
A venue for old and young and very popular for supporters of our great big bash side that now attracts so many young boys and girls to watch Australias number 1 sporting game.
One down side which can make your day a frustrating and expensive day is the line for refreshments and expensive food, have made the food more health wise over the years with more choices than just burgers hot dogs and fries.
Easy venue to get to at the east end of Perth city with parking available and buses outside venue or a 20 minute walk to and from Perth train station.
Great popular venue for West Australians and hopefully will be around for many years to come.

The holy ground of Western Australian cricket - perhaps getting a little tired in facilities, but it is a great quick running pitch, much loved by all cricketers, and followers. Known for the amount of runs that can be made in a short period of time.

Went on the ground tour with Wally. Got to see everything.! We got to spend some time on the ground. It gives you that feeling of awe to be standing out there in (near) the middle. Presidents room, Don Bradman room, change room. There is so much amazing memorabilia in these areas, and the museum was something special. A must for anyone who loves cricket, not only WA or Australian cricket fans.

Went on the WACA Ground tour with George who was an excellent tour guide who had a detailed knowledge of the history of the ground.

Got to look all around the ground including Player's room, Media Room and even on the ground (just not the pitch). You also got to see many photos and achievement boards of the history of the ground.

Tour goes for about 1 1/2 hours which is perfect (depart 10am and 1pm weekdays - only $15 and great value for money)
