“Apart from over-priced refreshments ... Excellent!”

A state of the art facility that accommodates a variety of events. Seating in all locations provides great viewing. Acoustics is great. Parking is convenient ... either in basement car park or across the road in Elder St Car Park. Train only five mins walk away. The one problem is the exorbitant price of refreshments. Overall, attendance at numerous events over past seven months has not disappointed.

Went to see Jesus Christ Superstar at this new venue in Perth and both the venue and the show were fantastic.
As there were supposedly 12,000 people attending we did not take a car but used public transport and were very glad we did as traffic around the venue was at a standstill and I'm guessing that people who arrived late had struggled to get a park.
Entering venue and getting tickets scanned was easy and fast, as was finding our seating. All seats appeared to have excellent view of stage. We were in the cheapest seats and could not fault them. There are no posts, etc to get stuck behind as in some other venues in Perth.
All in all a great addition to Perth entertainment venues for concerts and sporting events.

I have been to the Arena 4 times now, its opening night for Elton John, twice for sport (Hopman Cup and Netball), and last night for Jesus Christ Superstar. I have sat in a range of seats from A Reserve to the nose bleed section, and overall, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Even in the cheap seats, there is a reasonable view of the action. There were a few teething problems with queueing for box office pickup with Elton John, but since then, the queues have been very managable.
Pros:
- great acoustics! It is a huge improvement on the Dome.
- seats are relatively comfortable and have cup holders.
- although at peak times, there are always queues for the Ladies toilets, there are more facilities than many other venues, and the wait has never required major leg crossing!
- great parking underneath (if you get there early enough to use it), and I don't mind a flat $15 fee for convenience - love the red/green lights showing where the spaces are) and easy entrance and exit from freeway
- multiple food/bar/merchandise outlets
Cons:
- food is expensive, and the venue policy only allows sealed drink bottles to be brought in (they are the food police for anything else) There is also limited healthy food - if you like tasty, but very expensive chips you are in luck!!)
- Haven't yet found any other entries for parking, other than exiting the venue completely and walking around to the stairs at the north eastern side (either alternative entries don't exist or the signage is abysmal!)

The Arena is a welcome addition to event venues in Perth.

The Arena is a rather long but easy walk from the Perth Train Station. The exterior is visually striking and the building is set back with large areas for people to mingle outside the venue.
Once inside it is easy to see where to go with all the entries and doors clearly marked. There are also plenty of restrooms and many disabled toilets as well. The food istuation is not so good withcrowded bars and only a small selection of expensive food available.
The actual auditorium is very large and the wheelchair area is excellent with plenty of seating for wheelchair goers and seating for
companions. The regular seating however is very crowded together and I saw many people sitting absolutley shoulder to shoulder.
The sound is okay but not as good as other venues like the Concert Hall which has superb sound.
