“pre-opening experience”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Freser Suites Perth has not officially opened yet so there are a few teething poblems. The spa and sauna were not working and the fire alarm went off twice. The staff were very courtous but obviously new on the job and it took a longer time to book in as they were all getting used to the booking system. However if you are prepared to overlook these minor details, you are in for a wonderful experience at a new and perfectly appointed hotel.

Room Tip: Specify wheter you want a double or twin to save time.

There is an exciting new development in Perth which has set a totally new reference standard in the luxury and comfort it provides for those fortunate guests who have chosen to make this complex their home when visiting Perth.

We were very extremely fortunate to have found their web site in good time for our visit to Perth, which happily coincided with the opening of this prestigious new development, however nothing could have prepared us for the opulent surroundings which greeted us upon our arrival from Perth International airport at 3.00 a.m.

We were warmly greeted at the reception desk and our reservation was processed with speed and efficiency, before we were escorted to our one bedroom executive studio apartment, which was offered as a free upgrade as part of a current promotion running until 31st December 2012.

On opening the door of this luxurious suite, it became immediately obvious to us that an interior designer had excelled in transforming the room into a welcoming haven of luxury, peace and tranquility, seldom experienced in apartment accommodation. The ambience of the property exudes an upper level of luxury which exceeds even the finest hotels in any major city of the world, and you could be forgiven for thinking this is luxury at the level of Royalty!

The apartment offers a spacious fully fitted kitchen with every modern convenience to delight the most accomplished cook, and gourmet meals can readily be prepared with all the necessary cooking utensils and gadgets you could wish for. A modern dining table and chairs complements the food preparation area, and leads on to a relaxation lounge equipped with LCD TV and a stereo system for entertainment. Overlooking the Swan river, the large picture double glazed windows offer panoramic views of the parkland area adjacent to the river, whilst traffic noise is non-existent from its prime position in Perth.

On entering the bedroom and en-suite bathroom area, situated off the main room, one is immediately aware of the tranquil and calm atmosphere they have managed to introduce into this spacious apartment, with provision of a wall mounted TV iPod sound system and alarm clock, telephone, and the most comfortable beds, equipped with the highest quality linen and luxurious cushion an pillows dress the bed in a seductive and inviting manner. The en-suite bathroom offers its guests an opportunity to sample a wet room shower, with quality cosmetics and gels to luxuriate with. Included in the kitchen area is a self contained washer/drier, together with an incorporated sink to ensure that your clothes are always at their best, and this is of some significant importance since you are sure to want to be well dressed and of smart appearance when walking the corridors of this smartest luxury address in Perth.

Every aspect of this apartment complex is presented at the highest possible level of comfort and is packed with design features you will marvel at. the Dining room at the hotel is an experience you will not forget, and here you can enjoy a tasty breakfast of your choice, served with high quality cutlery and crockery which is sure to please even the most discerning guest. There is an al-fresco area off the main dining room where guests can enjoy the fresh air whist sampling the delights of this outstandingly impressive new development.

We had fortunately made our reservations to last for 4 days duration; sufficient time to sample the many varied menus on offer including a chocolate fountain daily prepared in the dining room, and were favourably impressed with the carefully selected staff members throughout the complex who have been employed to cater for your every need.

This exquisite address in perth has only been open for business for less than 1 month, and despite initial minor teething troubles in the first few days of operation, they have managed to build a reputation for high quality, attention to detail, and above all, a new reference standard in hotel management which continues to challenge the well established levels of older establishments in Perth city.

Under the management direction of Tamara Kasalica, the future of this new development is assured as she brings to the complex a wealth of experience in hotel management, well suited to the challenge this exciting new venture in apartment living brings to the area. Fraser properties have every justifiable reason to be extremely proud of this their latest building which is guaranteed to succeed as more discerning travellers, be they business personnel or holiday makers, discover the delights of staying in the heart of the city of Perth with all the convenience of City CBD access, whilst enjoying the splendour of Fraser Suites on Adelaide Street.

Why would you choose to stay in an hotel when you can have all the luxury you could wish for, together with the convenience of a home from home?
Take my recommendation and choose to stay at the Fraser Suites and I am certain that you will be as astonished as we have been. Another success story to be supported by discerning patrons.

Room Tip: Take this unique opportunity to sample the delights of an executive room in this property; you will...

The summary is "I will try it again".

I bought the advertised opening special for a single room (I think it was called a studio), nd by Perth standards it was well-priced at about $225 room only.

The room was tight but with a lot of wasted space in the entrance area. The one easy chair faced the bed instead of the TV, the coffee table was tiny and the desk space was quite small. That said, the room was comfortable for an overnight stay with good hanging space and a microwave oven.

The bathroom intrigued me. It had a full sized bath and a separate shower between the bath and a glass panel leaving a tiny amount of space for the toilet and the basin. All in all a novel layout but not really practical.

I liked being able to open a window, even if it meant a fair bit of wind noise.

If you expect a 5 star hotel this is NOT it. If you expect a modern apartment that will work for a day or two, this fits the bill.

Dear AussieStrategist,
Thank you for your mentions and reviews. I would agree that we are not a 5-star hotel. Rather, with our facilities such as the oven (conduction and convection), fridge, induction plates, washer and dryer at certain apartment categories, cutleries, etc. we would be in a luxury apartment category for both the short and extended stay guests.
Certainly looking forward to your return visit.
Best wishes.

We arrived at the hotel at 2:30pm on 26.10 to be informed that our room was not ready as yet and we could take a seat in the lobby whilst reception contacted housekeeping. We asked if we could wait at the bar and this caused a little issue as no one seemed to know if we could order a drink or not?!?! We were then advised that we could go and sit at the bar. A young lady came to serve us after approx 10 minutes and it was evident that she had no experience, however another pleasant young lady came over to help and provided us with our drink.

We were then informed that our room was ready and were provided with one key. As per previous comments only 1 lift was completed. The room was nice and view was good, however when I tried to close the curtains they kept getting snagged and were difficult to open and close!

My husband then rang reception and asked for some milk for coffee as there was none in our room. After waiting for an hour we ended up going for a walk up the street to buy our own as no milk was forthcoming despite reception informing us that it would be sent up straight away. We also attempted to use the wifi and were told that they were still attempting to get that fully working. You could connect to the network, however every time you attempted to go to a web page you were told that the service was not available.

We were looking in the room for information about the motel and surrounding area, however there was no such information available in our room.

The first night we were there we went to the casino for dinner and had a rather late night only to be woken up by housekeeping at 8:00am because they were standing outside our room organizing their trolley and making a huge amount of noise!! My husband ended up getting out of bed after 30 minutes of noise and requested they move.

I appreciate that the motel is new, however if you are not fully prepared, then don't open as people are paying good money to stay there!!!! Also, the carpark was not secure at all!!! I wish the motel well in the future and do hope that their services are improved for other customers in the future!!

The hotel is brand new so everything is clean and modern. Walking into the lobby the place does seem empty and ridiculously quiet which can be a plus is your looking for that however it did make the place seem cold and in welcoming. Check in was prompt and easy, he advised us that there is no room service or dinner yet (something that should be advised before booking) was a bit of an inconvenience as we were not prepared for this. Room was very clean, bed was large and comfortable and bathroom was modern. There's no minibar items, just tea and coffee and also water. No hotel guide book or information either. Upon returning to the room after dinner we placed the do not disturb sign on the door and locked it. After taking a shower we had a man knock and yell housekeeping pushing through the door at the same time, upon seeing that the door was locked he still proceeded to try and get into the room. After I asked can I help him he apologised and proceeded to call his supervisor, I'm guessing a mix up must have occurred. Nevertheless, housekeeping need to be trained more and will ignore the do not disturb sign and a locked door. Pool and gym was new and modern. Very nice, however pool appeared to be uncleaned; piles of dead insects were on the pool floor. Check out however was prompt. Overall this hotel needs some work, bear in mind it is new, paying $500+ a night doesn't justify for the lack of amenities. Remember there is no room service or dinner services as they do not mention this when you book. Hopefully as time goes buy they will reach the standards of other Fraser Suites.

I stayed a night here a couple of weeks after opening, the entrance/reception area is all very nice looking, spacious, immaculate really as expected. The staff were very friendly and helpful and although one of the lifts interiors wasnt finished it was easy to forgive seeing as the hotel is clearly adding some finishing touches.

The room was great although i missed foxtel which is a staple of hotel rooms these days but i was assured they are getting it very soon, another one of those little things still waiting to be ticked of the list i think. The bathroom was very nice, could not fault it. Excellent towels, bath and shower (they were separate by the way lol) and the array of toiletries at hand was better than most hotels. Very comfy bed so i slept well. The views from the room were great, clear views to the river, city and over parkland. That was from level 8 so i would imagine it gets a lot better.

I asked at the reception which level the pool and gym was on and one of the staff took me for a quick tour, he was really helpful showing me around and let me look at the pool area although it was closed (pool open 6.30am - 10pm but the gym is 24hr). So the next day i went back, the pool/spa area was very relaxing and the adjacent gym is a very decent size for a hotel with tv's on the treadmills, plenty of equipment, weights, fit balls etc. There was also a sauna but the weather was pretty warm so i just kept to the pool which i had to myself for a good hour. The changerooms are also immaculate. The pool is all indoors and isnt that big but there is a small decked outdoor area to walk out to or you can have the sliding doors open if you wish for some fresh air.

Personally i found my stay to be relaxing and enjoyable, with some slight room for improvement, all of which i found quite easy to overlook having just opened. I will stay here again no doubt.
