this place serves some of the best yum cha in town, very good dim sum and other food. This place is packed most nights, so expect to wait a little while to get a table.

A brisk yum-cha restaurant that is both popular with orientals and Caucasians. Their dim sum are good, but especially their egg tarts - heavenly and consistent in quality. Who needs to travel to HongKong for these?

Needed to find a good yum cha place in Perth. Couldn't seem to find one on TA so switched to Urban Spoon and found this gem in Northbridge with an 83% rating.

Knowing that yum cha places get packed on the weekends, I rang and managed to get a booking for three. I highly recommend doing this. They said they'd hold the table for 10 minutes. We got there on time and there was a giant line up outside. We walked straight in and to our table. The yum cha was definitely above average; the cheong fan and prawn dumplings were the highlight. I thought the siu mai was not that great, which was a pity since it is standard fare. The fried squid was also very good.

It's a busy place, not much in the way of ambience or atmosphere but that's not what yum cha is about.

Parking is a nightmare and we drove around for 10 minutes to find a park, so you need to factor that in if you have a reservation.

My friend and I have been going here for years. She lives north of Perth, and I am south, so Northbridge is a good meeting place. We both love yum cha/dim sum. We have been to others, but this is our favourite. If it's a weekend, and there is a queue, remember to get a docket and they will call it when a table is ready. My favourites are prawn and coriander dumplings :) followed by salt and pepper squid, chickens feet and those little balls with the soup in the middle. See you there!
