“Average everything but pricey”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

Average hotel, average services, bed was not very clean, AC control didn't work very well - even at 26 degree celsius it was freezing in the room, shower area in the toilet way too small. However, location is very good. We felt it was a bit overpriced for all it offered.

The staff was not helpful most of the time and the toilet was not family firendly. If you have baby or todler, this is not a suitable place to stay at. I almost had a fall at the bath area as the floor was so slippery. The lift is extremly small and shakey. The airconditioner in the bedroom was extremley noisy. The carpet was already peeling off and was very dirty and yet they never bother to replace it. It shows that they care very little about the safety of their customers.

We were there from Jan 28 and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is 100% smoke free, and it has 0% tolerance for noise. There are no large crowds and no big buses unload hordes of noisy tourists who contribute to the chaos and confusion you experience in Big hotels. Although, slightly out of the main CBD 'loop', its easily accessible, and the free CAT{red} buses that you can catch on Hay Street, just across on the next road, will take you to the CBD. Free and punctual and fuss free. Rooms are clean and adequate, though we could do with more hair shampoo. Once at the CBD, you can connect with the other colored CATs, and Perth City site seeing is effortless and at very little cost. Car rental firms are just across the road, Trinity and Bayswater. A fully licensed liquor shop is at the back, on Hay street, and there are two small eating places serving reasonable Asian food, and even one Halal kebab place, next to the Singapore Cuisine joint. A taxi to Burswood cost not more than A$15. Taxis are always available at the Pan Pacific Hotel next block, about 100 metres away...

We chose to stay here for the sky show, Australia Day, the location was excellent. It was very busy and the staff did a very good job. It's a old building but our room had been updated so was quite surprised when we seen room. Nothing real flash but clean and defiantly value for money. We tried to find a restaurant out on the street but none were open so we ended up back at the goodearth restaurant and was very good and good value for money again. Breakfast buffet was included and was passable. We chose to catch train to city and then catch buses as there was a bus stop just about 50 meters down the road. Good occomadation and would come back again.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room near the lifts as a bit noisy from lifts.

I stayed here as a base for attending a cricket match at the WACA.
The location was good-less than 15 minutes walk to the WACA but still within 20 minutes walk of most places in the CBD. The hotel has only a small frontage to the main road, which meant that the rooms were away from traffic noise.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
My studio was a large room with the bed in the foot of the L shape and not in the direct blast of the air con. There was ample furniture-tables, chairs, sofa etc.
The shower worked well and there was a plentiful supply of toiletries and towels.
The kitchenette had a full range of pans and kitchen utensils which enabled me to cook a wide range of meals. The fridge/freezer was very large which enabled me to bulk buy food without needing to shop on a daily basis.
There was only one flaw. The kitchenette sink in my room (533?) did not have a drainer. It was unsatisfactory to have to use the small food preparation surface as a drainer when washing up pots and pans. There was sufficient room for the fridge/freezer (and microwave on top of it) to have been placed 12 inches or so nearer the 'corridor' to create room to install a drainer.
Despite this flaw I would not hesitate to stay here on another visit to Perth.

Room Tip: Ask for a room well back from the main road (Adelaide Terrace)

We stayed for a weekend for a sporting trip. The staff are very friendly, but parking is terrible. we had to pay for parking at another hotel car park, which wasnt that great.
The rooms are nice, big and open. The beds are comfy. The shower however is a bit small. my head nearly hit the top of the roof, and was uncomfortable. Overall, the place to stay is what we need, and value for money.

Although I have rated this property only three star, it is a good value hotel to stay at whilst in Perth. Situated in a good location, the staff are friendly and helpful and the bonus is free parking, when there is a space available. Note parking spaces are very small. We had breakfast included which was fantastic value and afforded views over the Swan River. The rooms, although recently renovated are in need of more renovation and they smelt a bit musty. In saying that there were all the usual comforts, together with a small kitchen and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was very small and not very user friendly. The balcony afforded a view of the Swan River which was nice. Good value, friendly hotel.
