Owner description: Twelve of the 18 bells in this tower came from London's St.-Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square as a Bicentenary gift to the people of Western Australia in 1988. Originally cast in the 13th century and recast in the 16th and 18th centuries, they were rung at the homecoming of James Cook after his voyage of discovery in 1771, after the Battle of El Alamein in 1942 and at the coronation of every British monach since George II in 1727.

Awesome, beautiful view, modern structure & architecture & friendly staff. Check the time for bell ringing before you go so you can ring the massive old british bells up to 300kg under instruction of funny english grandma.
Also do not forget to put 1 dollar for a sweet digital bell ringing up in the view deck.

“Good fun had by all”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Before we visited the Bell Tower we did not realise there were demonstrations. We thought we were only going to see the bells and the views. We were directed upsairs - or to the lift and we found the demonstration just started. A very enthusiastic lady was explaining how the bells worked and everyone in the small group who were listening to her had their own rope to pull. This was great fun as some found it easier than others. At the end of the demonstration we were given a certificate. We were then directed further up the Tower and another gentleman explained how the bells worked as there were pulled by our first "teacher". It was a very interesting visit and was enjoyed by all ages and the views from the top are great.

“Worth a look whilst passing by...”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

I didn't go inside, but to be perfectly honest I didn't see much point. The building is practically see-though anyway so therefore unless you have a burning desire to go inside I would not bother. It is worth walking by and having a look at it if you are in town, but not worth spending money on to go inside if you are on a tight budget (which you probably will be as Perth is expensive for tourists). The building is pretty cool from the outside though, great architecture.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you could stop by and view the building from the outside. It is a shame that you could not come inside as although you can see some parts of the tower from outside there are many hidden treasures within. Perhaps next time you are in Perth you can have a try at chiming a bell during one of our demonstrations.

“Interesting, but a little pricey”
Reviewed December 27, 2013 via mobile

I decided to visit the Bell Tower when I had some time to spare on my last day in Perth.

They had a demonstration of bell ringing when I arrived and I had the chance to ring one of the bells. Had the demo not been on when I visited, I would've felt someone cheated out of my $14 as it seems rather a lot to walk up three floors and read some of the history on boards on each landing.

However, the demonstration was very good and extremely interesting and made me feel that I'd made pretty good use of my spare time.

“Many bells a ringing”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

We visited on a Sunday and were amazed at the beautiful building that holds the bells. The entry cost is fair at $9 for concessions. Glad to see the lift at it looked a long walk up to the 6th floor. This floor is well worth a visit as you can walk around the outside of the tower.
Move down floor by floor to see the huge bells in operation as they ring, a lower floor shows the campanologists pulling their ropes. The whole experience was very worthwhile and highly recommended.
