“Pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

For some reason I had expected this café to be of a lower standard than it turns out to be, and so hadn't included it on any previous visit to Kings Park. Our annual wander through the fantastic profusion of spring wildflowers this week ended rather late for lunch, so we opted for Zamia rather than heading out of the park.

On a cool and changeable afternoon we found it to be quite busy still but had no trouble procuring an outdoor table, overlooking the wonderful Synergy Playground. The menu is fairly extensive so there's plenty to choose from, and the freshly-squeezed juices to start were great. My husband's field mushroom dish was tasty & terrific but I was disappointed with my choice of salmon & leek pie which was bland, runny and somewhat lacking in salmon - pretty ordinary really. The waitress who came to clear was genuinely interested in how we enjoyed our meal & immediately offered complimentary coffees & apologised that my meal wasn't up to my expectations, so that immediately countered any points against them overall.

I have no hesitation in recommending Zamia Café for its terrific location, good service and food - the cake selection looked delectable too !

“Dont miss it, go there and eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

This is a fab restaurant, set in the centre of the Kings Park, Perth. The welcome (from Anna our waitress) was great. Best to book if going at weekends, we had the table at the end of the outside verandah and were able to look out over the whole park... lovely. The food is well cooked and well presented. The Passion cheesecake is to 'die' for... yum yum.... The coffee is good to. Overall a very fair, reasonable, nicely staffed restaurant with a good menu and lovely atmosphere.

Thank you guys, this was a surprise and treat and and a really lovely one.

So once you have eaten, get yourself up and off to see the park, see if you can make it up to the top of the DNA tower.... good luck ..... and on over to the bridges/walkways and views. Dont miss the everlasting torch and the gardens, beautiful flowers and the fantastic views across Perth.

“If you are in Kings Park make a visit to this cafe.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2012

This Cafe has a great location in a great park smack bang in the middle of the city. The views of the grounds are wonderful and we dine here usually on Sunday's for brunch. I recommend the pancakes to the full breakfast.

The coffees are always up to scratch.

If you are around for Lunch the Menu's change however I can regularly count on the standard this great cafe offers. Make a visit here :)

When you have lovely friends who live the other side of Perth and you want to meet up in a central place for a long chatty lunch in a lovely setting, with great service and above all really good food at good prices you can't beat Zamia, it is a favorite of our us and our Friends and it always pleases everyone

“Deservedly popular”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2012

Four friends enjoyed lunch at Zamia Cafe on an autumn Saturday afternoon. The venue was very busy and noisy, service a bit haphazard. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty, serving sizes are pleasing, ditto menu range. You would not get bored with the menu. Apparently breakfasts are also fabulous and vegetarians are well catered to.
The setting is bush in the middle of Perth. This place is very good value and very popular for a reason. It is perfect for family lunches and breakfasts, entertaining overseas and interstate friends, birthdays and reunions.
I will definately return...and sit near the windows or outside where it is quieter.
