We had just flown from Bali to Perth, and had to get a cheap hotel overnight before a 6am flight to Melbourne the following day. We checked in at 8pm, everything seemed ok, the room had good swan river views, had all the basic essentials you would expect when only paying A$80 for one night. After having dinner at the Lucky Shag pub on the wharf (which is very good....I recommend it!) we returned to the hotel about 10pm, hoping to get a good 6 hours sleep before getting picked up to go to the airport at 4am. Not all turned out as expected, at about 12:30pm 2 ladies came back to the room next door to us, and began to laugh, talk, shower etc, the walls were so thin you could hear every word, and everything that was happening in there. I thought, so, so quick shower, chat then bed for them and I could fall back to sleep.....oh, how wrong I was! They proceeded to 'get jiggy with it' which lasted about 2.5 hours, and we go no sleep at all and hear every single moan and groan. Eventually about 3am, we heard one of them make a phone call to arrange to be 'picked up', then after she had left we hear the other remaining lady receive another call saying how 'she'd never done this sort of thing before, and how she got on really well with the other lady, and how great the whole event was. Needless to say the only thing we could assume was that one of the ladies had 'acquired the services of' another lady for the night!!!
After having got up and shower etc, we then waited in the lobby at 4am for our bus to pick us up, only to witness another, what could only be described as a 'lady of the night' enter the hotel lobby (which by the way has open doors all night and no security whatsovever) walk in, straight past the unmanned reception desk and straight up the lift. All we could think was I hope the room next door to wherever she was going was vacant, for the sake of the other poor guests staying at this hotel.
My advice....never stay here, even though it may be cheap and seem like a bargain!

Absolutely terrible place to stay.
Many things wrong with the room.
1. Horrible parking facilities.
2. opened a cupboard drawer and the whole front of the drawer swung off.
3. Shower rail not nailed down, just wedged between the walls and easily pulled down.
4. Phone didn't work.
5. No shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom.
6. Cooling/Heating not functional.

Only good things were the towels.

May i say that i saw reviews on this hotel saying it was undergoing refurbishments at the time i was going to stay. Yes there was and they were all on a floor that no-one was staying as they weren't selling those rooms.. My wife and i stayed here for 2 nights in their so-called budget rooms :o) ie: lower floors... We were on the 4th floor and the works were confined to the 3rd. We were told (with confidence) that no works were undertaken on the floors were guests were staying. We were in 408 and we had a great veiw of the river, the bell tower and the ferris wheel. Not bad for $85 a night booked through wotif. Job done, happy and very clean place and i will be back. Stay with confidence. :o) p.s 2 minute walk from town

We stayed at this hotel for one night whilst having our house painted. It was a disaster from start to finish. The rooms are filthy and old. The tv was so old with not even a remote. The bed was uncomfortable and linen was not clean. The staff at reception were rude and the bathroom in particular was mouldy and horrible. We debated sleeping in our car for the night. I have never been somewhere so under standard.

The hotel is in a great location for business travellers but the rooms are very old with facilities that bearly work. I stayed three nights and I was definitely glad to get home. The breakfast was very average and we only ate there once and found much better places on St Georges Terrace for a similar price. The TVs don't have remote control and the picture is constantly freezing. I was told it was the antenna and they could do nothing about it. I asked reception to replace a globe in the bedroom lamp but even after three days it still wasn't working. The view was lovely overlooking a car park!!! Next time in Perth I will be looking for alternate accommodation.
