All the pine, and all the photos of Swedish countryside in the universe, can't hide the fact that my room was tiny
Still, this place has two things going for it - location and price
And for those two reasons I'd probably stay here again
Especially when any other accomodation in Perth CBD can be up to twice as expensive

Stayed here for 1 night at the end of a tour. Very quaint hotel and a delight to stay at. Reminded me of years gone by. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. Lovely big bathroom with good amenities. Bed was great to sleep in. We had dinner in the restaurant - incredible! I was amazed at the variety of food available. There was something for everyone and it was constantly being replenished. A great place to stay. The location was excellent but unfortunately we arrived late afternoon and left very early the next morning for the airport so didnt get to investigate the shopping area just down from the hotel. Will have to return soon.

Great little boutique hotel. Obviously recently refurbished. Very clean and even has a laundry. Fantastic breakfast smorgasbord included. Don't know how they do it for the price - a very reasonable rate, less than other hotels in Perth. The hotel is in the centre of the city close to shops, buses and trains. A bit of noise in the street below on Friday and Saturday nights but not too bad. If you have a problem with stairs ask for a room close to the lift. Access to some of the rooms are via stairs. Their restaurant is next door and very handy for evening meals as well as breakfast smorgasbord. Only down side was the lift floor - easy to trip if you are not paying attention to the disparity in level. Other than that highly recommend this hotel. Will stay there again.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room.

Perth hotels are too expensive. Five star hotels are $450 and up. I was there for a week in early November and looked for lodging at a reasonable rate. Miss Maud's was my choice. I highly recommend it. The rooms are smallish, but clean and well cared for. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the centre of downtown, but the windows are double glazed and outside noise is minimal. The food is the key. Breakfasts are magnificent and the evening smorgasbord is a Perth institution. Finally the price - it was half what one would pay at a five star hotel and it was better than most. I will be back.

Room Tip: I would go for one of the higher priced rooms, they are more spacious and have some extra seclusion

Miss Maud is in a great location being only a short walk to the main centre of Perth and where you can catch the cruise trips to Fremantle.

The smorgasbord breakfast is fantastic as is the dinner in the evening (you need to book this - it gets very busy in the restaurant.

Minor niggles:
No safe in the room or security box at reception that we were aware of.
It has a lift, but you still have to climb stairs to get to it.
No shower gel / body wash was provided, only soap.

However I would happily stay there again and recommend to others.
