We stayed here for a night on our way through Perth. The location is ideal as it is not far to walk to the malls in the city or down to the river.

The room was cosy, quiet, clean and comfortable. There is a garden/courtyard on the roof which is quite nice.

The breakfast was included and was excellent.

Miss Maud is one of those colorful hotels that will appeal to those who do not want the facelessness of a large international hotel chain. Its a charming little hotel set in the corner Murray Street and Pier Street with its own attached bakery and Swedish restaurants. The rooms have probably just been redone and the upholstery gives the spacious room and clean and warm feel to it. It has one of those really charming antique lifts where you need to close the metal gates yourself. Its a tiny lift so huge lugggages are not advised unless you want to lug it up the stairs yourself.

We went exploring around the hotel and found a little courtyard with its own herb garden. Imagine my excitement when I saw the lemon tree for the first time! ( The downside of being a city-kid) The courtyard seems to be situated outside the employees' quarters. How I envy them. The basil, peppermint, dill etc were also probably used by the chef in the restaurant's cooking.

The smorgasbord breakfast is a wonderful affair not to be missed. Imagine waking up to a myriad of mouth-watering food in a riot of colors!. From cold cuts to fruits to the most delightful danishes, I'm often spoilt for choice and wish I could have my breakfast, lunch and dinner all at once!

I stayed at Miss Maud Swedish Hotel the room had a window with a view to the courtyard. The hotel has lots of character and charm. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast, which was included, was excellent with a huge variety. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of most things.

We stayed here two nights on our way out from Perth. We found the room clean, private and quiet - and these for us are a huge plus - although a bit on the small side. However it was really good value for money. Also the rate included the buffet breakfast which is one of the best in Perth. A place I would stay again and that I can comfortably and confidently recommend to anybody,

We stayed in the Miss Maud Swedish hotel for three days and had a large room overlooking the main street. The bed and fittings were of a high standard and the reception staff helpfull. We had breakfast at the conected resturant next door which was of a high standard and good service. The hotel has an interesting arrangement and makes a change from the standard type of hotel. I would give it a high recomendation and the only reason I have not given it five stars is due to the fact it is necessary to carry cases up about five steps before reaching the lift and we had to go up more steps before reaching our room.

I stayed at Miss Maud Swedish Hotel on two occasion in August. I had the same room on both occasions, with a window looking out onto a courtyard garden. The decor is a bit old fashioned and is beginning to show its age, but the hotel has lots of character and charm. Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the room was a good size, and the bed was large and comfortable. My room was very quiet and the breakfast, which is included in the room rate, was excellent. I found the staff to be polite and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located within walking distance of public transport, shops and eating establishments. The airport shuttle stops a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The only drawback was that I had to negotiate a winding corridor and a couple of steps to get to my room, and the antiquated lift is a little challenging if you have lots of luggage - something to bear in mind for the mobility impaired. Overall I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Miss Maud and will definitely stay there again when visiting Perth.

My partner and I recently stayed at Miss Maud's for 5 nights for a mixed business and pleasure trip. The first room we were booked into was an internal room in which the windows opened into a hotel corridor. The room itself was reasonably appointed and quite large, but not being able to get fresh air or sunlight did not appeal to us. We promptly called reception and within ten minutes were assigned one of the few rooms with a balcony facing Murray St. This room though smaller was clean and comfortable. The street is noisy and rowdy especially on a Friday night. It is very close to Perth's malls and an easy walk to the Convention centre. Breakfast is included in the room price, and is a large spread but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of quality. The old lift and decor give the place character. If you are after a modern hotel with all the cons then Miss Maud's is not for you, but in terms of the cost (in comparison to other Perth hotels) it is reasonable given that breakfast is included. Staff were friendly and approachable. We generally had nothing to complain about.

Room Tip: If you like fresh air and sunlight ask for a room facing outwards, not am internal room
