“Poor value for money”

While the hotel looks impressive from the foyer, the rooms, particularly the bathrooms, give nowhere near the value that other Perth city hotels give. The shower/bath is extremely outdated and potentially dangerous. Won't stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for my sons birthday. We had booked a standard room with roll out bed for our son. As soon as we got out of the lift we knew things were bad. the hallway carpet was very dirty and the dust and smell were very bad. We were very disappointed with the room, small and no bed for our son. The bathroom needed updating and a deep clean.
We spoke to the manager about out disappointment and immediately we were upgraded to a superior room. This part of the hotel uses different lifts. When you step out of the life you see clean carpet, no dust and smells fresh. It's like going to a different hotel. The restaurant is really bad ( don't go there ). But breakfast is good. If you book this hotel make sure you book a superior room. Location was great.

2 of us stayed at the Perth Mercure on the weekend before flying north.
The room was quite large, clean, and presentable.
Breakfast was a buffet style and adequately meet our needs.
Parking at $35 per day was too expensive even though this is an inner city hotel.

The hotel was clean the staff friendly and the location convenient to the city, With the freeway by Perth CBD it never really takes long to head out of the City but while the harbour works are on it is a little slow around Riverside Drive. This will sort its self out in time and the development is finalised.
My room was neat and serviced and with a pillow selection a good nite rest is achievable.
I do work at night from my room so I like to be able to open the window and get fresh air so the small window that turned out was great.
I will stay again.

When using my Accor complimentary pass this year I stayed with a friend at the Mercure Perth. Great location for city shopping and getting in and out of the city. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used the Mercure dine in for all meals and had a fantastic time. Thank you.

Stayed here for 1 night, good location. The hotel was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Had a room with a view. Took advantage of the pool, it was very good, probably won't stay here again was it was quite expensive. Friend had a discount voucher, so only paid $100 for the room instead of $200.

The rating of 3 stars is really due to the first 3 nights in a standard room, which was a good size. However bathroom related things were a letdown:
- shower head very low
- feeling of leaning/sliding forward when sitting on the loo
- toilet not cleaned and sanitary bag not replaced during the first full day we were there

I also feel that in general the Mercure restaurants are pretending to be a bit better than they really are. The food prices are fairly high while the setting and decor tends to not live up to the price. In this case our main meals came out rather cool - not cold but barely warm. On the other hand the staff were very good and the wine selection is good.

A few nights later we stayed again this time booked for a superior room and then we took advantage of a cheap upgrade to a deluxe room with complimentary breakfast. The room was very big and the bathroom nicer, with separate shower and bath.

Wondered why the cost of the first few nights seemed a bit high - but still better than most other options which is why I booked here. Turned out it was a holiday weekend in Western Australia. Even the Ibis was more expensive. Overall we were happy to stay here.
