For those using public transport this attraction is easy to get to on the CAT bus. The tour was informative and interesting although a bit pricey.

25 Aus Dollar for 1 Adut, 70 for family package (2 adults 2 children). Worthy trip. Try to attend the real gold mining class. You see the real gold melt at 1200 Celsius, then frozen in 10 second! Amazing!! This widen my Perth experience.

Surprisingly interesting and worth seeing especially as it is still a working mint. Interesting gold trading counter also - leave the credit card at home!

I recently wrote a positive review of the perth mint , sadly Trip[advisor appears to instead lodged my review against the wrong attraction i.e. Kings Park War Memorial ???? It appears impossible to contact Trip Advisor or rewrite my review for 3 months. Hence this insertion .

The Perth mint is approximately a pleasant fifteen minute walk from the CBD. Because I live in Perth I always take my overseas visitors to the Perth mint. The first thing you will see when approaching, is the beautiful architecture of the building. Once inside you can view the various pieces of gold jewelry and gold bar that can be purchased. The highlight of the visit for me though was sitting and listening to the gentleman explaining the history of the Perth Mint from it's meagre start; built to service the West Australian gold boom of the 1800's and watching him melt down a real gold nugget and pouring into an ingot.
