“I picked the gold bar up!”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

You can get the Red Cat to the Perth Mint but if you are in the city it is only up Hay Street, not far for us but maybe if you cannot walk far get the Cat.

You can have your own coins engraved which is a must and there is a place to look around.

The best part though is seeing the gold bars being made (well one gold bar). Make sure you go at a time when they are doing a demonstation, they actually make it in front of you. At the same time they give you a talk on how gold etc was discovered.

They do have a gold bar there locked in a cabinet which you can just about get your hand in. I was surprised how heavy gold is, but I managed to pick it up! If you go, you will see what I mean when you try it.

Great experience.

“Great tours”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

I took my elderly mother here and we both enjoyed the tour very much. The staff very very engaging and knowledgeable. The gold pour is definitely the highlight. The collection of precious gems and ingots from around the world is really fascinating. The gift shop has everything from $2 souvenirs to jewellery worth tens of thousands of dollars.
