Here is a wonderful place for locals and visitors to spend some time. The weekends in the summer are busy with couples and large family groups enjoying the park and having their picnics and BBQ. From high up you get a good view of the sunset, then a little later at dusk, the city skyscrapers look impressive as their lights come on. A wonderful safe atmosphere and a great initial way to get your bearings on the city and the river.

If you are going during the summer time go early to avoid the sun. Wonderful views of Perth city and lovely walks, make sure you wear a comfortable pair of shoes. Great variety of flora and fauna. Toilet facilities are good and there are no car parking fees.

Arguably the best scenery you'll ever see. This place is fantastic, it"s clean, extremely well laid out and I loved it. It towers over the Swan Bay and presents scenery after scenery after scenery.

A first for me was that we did not have to pay a fee to enter the Park and Botanical Garden. On the day of our visit the War Hero's were honored and we had the privelage to watch the ceremony which brought tears to my eyes. Walking through this well maintained Botanical Garden, over the glass bridge, was an experience that will not be forgotten in a long time.

Reached easily by No.37 bus (free) from the city centre. Stunning views with one of the best situated war memorials we have ever seen. Entrance to the Botanical Gardens is free with details and brochures available from the tourist office in the park, staffed with helpful and enthusiastic volunteers. This is a must see destination but be prepared for very high temperatures which limits the amount of walking that can be done comfortably.
