“Pretty and educational”

It was really pretty and nice to see a wide variety of plants, some that I had not seen before or in real life. There is gift shop there too where you can look at or buy original Aboriginal art. The views from Kings Park are amazing. There are three bus lines in Perth that are free. They are the red, blue and yellow lines. Between all three routes, the entire city is pretty much covered. There are some uneven surfaces and gravel paths, so do yourself a favor and wear comfortable shoes.

“Kings Park and Botanic Gardens.”

A beautiful setting so close to the city and with the estuary (Swan River) running along oneside. I really enjoyed all the stark differences from the dry bushland flora to the lush undulating buffalo grass lawns to the spectacular views across the nearby city buildings to the breathtaking views from the tree-top walk. Most beautiful, serene and thought provoking. There was also a fabulous "arena" the aboriginal meeting place just in among the trees, a type of ampi-theatre it seemed. So peaceful. The Water gardens were also really lovely. If you are in Perth, then please go there. The war memorial is sobering. Also I visited a wonderful gallery there too, the Aboriginal Art Gallery. Some of the most magnificent paintings by many very talented (authentic Aboriginal) artists.

“Nice piece of wilderness in the city”

The natural parkland was refreshing without being a manicured parkland like Centennial Park in Sydney or your standard European city park. A pleasant natural oasis in the. City
