Stayed there last weekend. Everything was good. Friendly helpful staff, good location, clean rooms. We are from Country WA always nice to have somewhere reasonably priced and close to where we need to be (Cirque de Soleil) and (Jersey Boys) at Crown Theatre. Will stay again.

We stayed here overnight when we went to the football one Friday night. The hotel itself is fine, clean and tidy. The check in staff were friendly enough and were helpful pointing us to the free Cat bus, which we needed because the hotel is quite a walk from the CBD and train station. The room itself was roomy and very comfortable. The hotel breakfast is one of the best I've seen in a long time, good coffee and a wide range of hot & cold dishes and with excellent service. Overall the hotel is very good. BUT!

Unfortunately, it seems the entire restaurant and hotel industry is under the impression that every single Western Australian is earning a kings ransom in some dusty mine. While true for a few, most of us just have regular jobs with regular pay and paying for accomodation is a treat. We used a third party website to get a great price that included breakfast, without this deal we couldn't have stayed in Perth that night. Thank goodness for a good deal! Go the Eagles!

Room Tip: The lift is very slow, travelling up then down and then eventually settling at your floor. If you...

Dear Eagles Fan!

Arrived at the hotel early as we were going to a matinee performance receptionist did not look happy filled out paperwork and asked about parking told it was next to the building and cost. Was not told about ticket and how to validate it. Evening meal at the restaurant was good and service was also good. Room was ok clean bath had large chip at the bottom of if size of a 50c coin would not bath in it. Grey shower curtain looked silly in white bathroom. One bathroom light not working could not leave bathroom door open and apply makeup as main light was behind door service at breakfast was good if you drank coffee they served you if you drank tea serve yourself I expect equal service. At evening meal and breakfast was asked for loyalty card do your computers not talk to each other.

Location is fairly good for a stay in Perth exploring the city.
The hotel is dated although they have tried to do it up a bit with new shower head, furniture etc. Good size room and nice having a little table and chairs looking out the window.
I didn't have much to do with the staff but on check-in and out they weren't very friendly. Just doing their job.

The staff understood how important it was to soften the impact of their renovations on the customers. The lifts were very slow so they offered complimentary drinks and nibbles as we waited. Breakfast was very pleasant with excellent service and a huge variety of freshly prepared hot and cold options - coffee freshly made to order as was my omelette. We were also given a free upgrade to a junior suite - which while tired had a great bed and view of the swan river.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view

We managed to score a king sized room for $180 through Wotif by booking early. The room was nice - large and well presented with a bath but business travellers would probably be disappointed as we were by the lack of an iron.
The a/c was not working and as Perth has been going through a cold snap with night temps of 2-3 degrees C we contacted reception 3 times to be given 3 different stories ranging from excuses (the whole hotel is the same - false as we spoke with other guests), we will send someone up to fix it (never arrived), we will send you a heater (also never arrived).
The lifts also were out of order - major issue!
Guests were waiting up to 10 minutes to travel a couple of floors.
As we were only on the first floor we decided to walk down - bad mistake! When we got to the lobby and opened the door the alarm went off. We did learn though that the stairwell is a rabbit warren and not well signposted in the event of a fire you could easily get lost - it branches off into a couple of directions.
We paid for breakfast - $35 a head - better off over the road at Coffee Club I think.

Room Tip: Corner rooms near Adelaide terrace have traffic noise.

My review is somewhat coloured as we've just transferred from the absolutely brilliant Terrace Hotel, which was booked out tonight.

Nobody to meet us as we parked on the footpath. Paid for parking at reception only to ordered out of the car park by a militant staff member who demanded we find our own parking. Back to park on the kerb and queue for the overloaded reception area to find someone to take our luggage. Then driving the streets looking for a parking spot.

The key would get us to any floor other than our own and the staff didn't want to believe this. Back to reception but only one person present and many people waiting to be served. To get to our room we need to find a staff member with a master key to get tour room.

What a stark difference to impeccable service at the Terrace Hotel.

Sat down on the bed and I hit the base. Terrible support.

This is nothing more than a basic hotel with service to match. If you get it as the Wotif mystery hotel it is probably ok but to pay the normally outrageous Perth hotel prices, you will be extremely disappointed.

Room Tip: Book a room at the Terrace Hotel
