This hotel wasnt maybe the best for being up date but it was clean, comfy and well priced with everything in walking distance.
The restaurant is great for breakfast catering for every ones tastes but i'd advise you to seak other means for your evening meal as their prices where high and not allot to offer.

Staff are very friendly and will even bring you a glass of water in the foyer if thats what you require.

Dont over look this Hotel, we didnt stay in it long enough to complain about the out of date facilities as it was perfect for what we wanted to do and because of its location it was just perfect.!!!!

When we arrived at Kings we enetered a foyer that was very sparce with decore that was a throw-back to the 70's and not in a good way. I had been in contact with the hotel and requested an early check-in as we had a wedding to attend and they where honest and said an early check-in may not be possible, the problem was that we're eventually checked in an hour late, I would have hoped at least to be able to check-in at the standard check-in time (Another member of our party had had there entire booking lost). The hotel is a no smoking hotel however the scent of years of smoking still lingered through-out the hall ways. The room itself was simple and comfortable but as I paid for what was described as one of their best rooms I was soon let down, the furniture was amix of cheap modern and old 70's, all very strange. I also felt the customer service was a little lacking as the parking arrangments where a little complex and it was only by sheer luck we got it right as the reception staff offered no explanation as to how the system worked. My last issue was that room service was not availably on Saturday/Sunday during the day however was during the week. I feel the price didn't match the service. Kings Hotel though may suit a businessman due to its central Perth location.

The hotel is like something out of the Shining. I was on the 9th floor and the lift took about as long to get up the 9 floors as it would have taken me to walk. When I finally reached my room the place absolutely stank of paint and they had blasted the room's air conditioning in a desperate attempt to get rid of the smell. They've invested in new bed linen and a cheap big TV, but the rooms are really pretty substandard by modern standards. A few other reviewers have said that it was a cheap stay, but I think I would have got much better value at the Holiday Inn

We have stayed a few times and it's so handy to everything. Yes a bit old and dated but cheap so make allowances. Staff helpful, meals good ..If you are touring around don't need to stay in room long. Large rooms Tv was hard to figure out but they sent a man up to instruct us. Even though it is in the heart of the city it is quiet compared to some. Taxi and coffee shop at door.Phones, public internet downstairs all you coud want.

This is a well located hotel, so convenient to the city and doesn't cost the earth for those on a budget. There were no wine glasses in the room, though they were delivered immediately upon request, and tea & coffee, soaps etc were not replenished. Buffet breakfast was included and was quite satisfactory, made a nice start to the day. We had an older style room, but it was very clean and bed was comfortable. Free wi fi in the lobby. Unfortunately the pool was closed for renovations, would have been great to have a swim as it was very hot. However overall we had an enjoyable stay, reception staff were helpful.

The only thing that was good about this hotel was location, but it definitely need a full renovation ASAP!!

The room was very very old, smells like an old sofa and dirty ventilation hole.
There's lots of dust on the ventilation hole. I can't imagine when was the last time it was cleaned. The room become very dump after hot shower, because lack of ventilation.
We're coughing all the night because of the bad air.
There's a hole in the blanket too, broken hanger and curtain.
Some of the breakfast food were overcooked, the fruit weren't fresh either.

Stayed over Christmas, on floor 9. On arrival, fridge not switched on (how long had the hotel milk been in the fridge?) and bracket missing off fridge door, which resulted in bottles falling out on opening of the fridge door. Found TV instructions were different to the actual switching on of the TV, and very limited free-to-air channels available. Pool was shut. (repairs) Bar not available but used by select groups for drinking. No cutlery, 1 teaspoon, 2 cups and saucers, 2 beer glasses only. Bed-side lamp switch broken and unable to be operated. Found tiles missing in bathroom, brackets for towel broken and missing, state of the bathroom floor unclean. Large damp patch in the ceiling. Door leading out onto the patio, (which was shared with the adjacent room - no partition) had a very dodgy lock and because the door did not pull together, (there was a 10mm gap) it was easily able to be opened from the outside.
Partial views alright, multi-storey building in front, leaving small view of the river to the side of this building. It was interesting to see an ad on ABC regarding lack of water in Perth, to save water in the bathroom, the room had no hand basin plug to assist in the saving of water. A nice Perth water sign was there to request to leave towels in the bath if you wish them changed, but the cleaners changed the towels regardless.
In evaluating hotel prices, when car parking is advertised as being available and after booking rooms you find that a $9 one entry from mid-day to mid-day charge for car parking, it would be considered to be $9 for 24 hour parking. This is not the case. You are only allowed 1 entry in 24 hours at the separate and privately managed car park next door. Having a hire car on our visit to Perth we wished to use the car to see the sights surrounding Perth, which required the car to leave the car park more than once in 24 hours which we had to pay for, each time we departed, up to $9 ourselves. I approached the desk, the day manager and the general manager to discuss what I consider to be false advertising to no avail.
Kings is in need of a major make-over with the decor, which is a well-worn 1970's style.
