Hyatt Regency Perth
Ranked #21 of 66 Hotels in Perth
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Stayed at the Hyatt in Perth for a weekend away (leisure) - the hotel is for sure one of the better ones in Perth. Got a good deal as a Hyatt Gold member - especially for the weekend rates (I find the rates during the week in Perth to be quite high due to a shortage of hotel rooms in the city). The bed room was lovely and the king bed lovely as per Hyatt standards. I would have liked to have a separate shower in the bathroom but not all rooms have this as standard. The bathroom felt a bit dated compared to the fresh bedroom. The hotel is still finishing of the renovations but no disturbance for the time we were there. Staff was friendly and a free bottle of bubbles as it was our first weekend away after we got married (been too busy for a real honeymoon) - lovely touch. Overall good hotel for Perth.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a bathroom with separate shower and bath.

Dear MadKing72
Many thanks for choosing to stay with us for your weekend getaway and I am pleased we were able to provide ‘the Hyatt touch’ for such a special occasion. Should you stay with us again, please let our Reservations team know your preference for a separate bath and shower so they can allocate the appropriate room type and also update your guest profile with this information for future reference.

The iAwards event in Perth, hosted by the Australian Computer Society at the Hyatt on 14 june, showcased some of the best achievements in information technology products and services from the West.
An excellent dinner, with top-quality service on the night, and, from all accounts, a helpful and responsive event crew from the Hyatt during its planning, ensured a successful and memorable night that impressed this visitor from interstate.
Well done to all concerned.

Have read mixed reviews on this hotel, arrived and service was exceptional from front door staff to turn down service, club floor and service was first class, nothing was any trouble and drinks and canapés were delicious, so much so I had to skip dinner...the ambience was perfect and ideal for the single traveller or couple. Room was well appointed and cannot fault the service, have stayed at the Richardson and Duxton in previous visits but now have a new favorite, thank you Hyatt, will be back next month...

Compared to other hyatts that I have stayed in, this one was more expensive. The rooms are of a nice size and well appointed so you are very comfortable once you do get over the price tag. The amenities are great, it's nice to have an outdoor heated pool, tennis court, spa and sauna as well as a fitness centre. The fitness cente is well equipped as well.

This was our second weekend break at the Hyatt. We really like this hotel. The staff are very good, businesslike but friendly and genuinely seem to be happy doing what they do, something rarely found in Australia. Our reservation person was Nick who very quickly got us to uprade our room for a small fee (he is very good at what he does)
We love the rooms, they are a good size and very clean. Large flat screen tv for anyone that wants it.
The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Our upgraded room had a lovely view of the river.
Robes and slippers will always do it for me, seems a bit luxurious.
We had dinner at the Cafe buffet and was disappointed with the selection, I do not believe it is worthy of $69.00 per head, the food that was available at the buffet was nice but the selection was lacking although my partner managed to find lots in the sweets section.
It is a shame that in a 5 star hotel in a major city some of the restaurants close on a Sunday.
We will be back in September for some more down time and hopefully this time we get to use more of the facilities available as we ran out of time for a sauna and swim.

Dear ChrissyBPerth
I am pleased to see that you chose to stay with us for another relaxing mini break and certainly appreciate the feedback regarding our staff. I’ve also noted your comment regarding the buffet selection and have passed this to our Executive Chef for his information. We look forward to welcoming you back later this year and hope you are indeed able to take advantage of the Spring weather and make full use of the pool and sauna – and maybe even the tennis court !

This hotel is expensive compared to other Hyatt hotels, so I was expecting a great room. Well the room is just OK.....sort of what you get in a Marriott in the USA. Except this isn't a motel!
The room is very tired and dated. It could do with a good refurbishment.
On the plus side, this hotel isn't too far from the airport, about 20 mins. drive, and the restaurant on the ground floor has the BEST buffet I've seen in a long, long time. It's not cheap, but I would certainly class it as good value.
The staff are very friendly, but the whole hotel has the appearance of a prison!! San Quentin comes to mind....it's to do with the architecture...........60's-type walkways!

Thank you for taking the time to let me have your feedback , which is very much appreciated, especially your excellent comments regarding the buffet in our Cafe restaurant. I hope you will consider staying with us again on a future visit to Perth, when you could perhaps also try out our SE Asian restaurant in the lower lobby.

I would stay here again and I am sorry I hadn't stayed sooner!
