The Hyatt group tore the soul out of this hotel when they took it over previously (as the Merlin) it had magnificent indoor gardens on all the balconies - it was like a big atrium. Now all the boxes are empty and the interior is sterile.

but wait there is more, my brand new car was parked by their attendants and when returned to me it had a huge dent in the edge of the door. It looked like they were backing it with the door open and collected something on the way. The hotel refused to accept any responsibility. Naturally, i could not prove they had done it, and whoever was driving it at the time did not cough to it (naturally , i suppose) - hence I am left to get it fixed and foot the bill. I had stayed there once or twice a year up until this occurred; but never again. Sadly, i have to attend events there occasionally, as it is one of only a few venues in Perth that can handle 500 plus conferences and events

Dear Yagan1833
Thank you for your comments, we appreciate the feedback you have provided. We are continually looking at ways to enhance the ambience of the hotel; given the particular open style of the atrium lobby, it really needs to be something sustainable, easily maintained with a good visual impact and we are currently reviewing how this can best be achieved
Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.

Stayed at the hotel in October 2012. Checkin was good, the room was ok, although quite expensive compared with other cities in Australia.

The inside of the building reminds me of a hospital though, very clinical and not much atmosphere. We had a drink in the bar and had a meal in the cafe, it was ok.

Check out was easy, and the concierge was very helpful. It is close to the river so good for a morning run, but not near to any shops.

In general very disappointing compared to other Hyatts I have stayed at in other parts of the world.

Dear Wallace Q
Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Hyatt Regency Perth and I am pleased that you enjoyed the service provided by our Concierge. It is however disappointing to learn that on this occasion we fell short of your expectations in other areas and we will certainly bear your comments in mind for any future improvements made to the hotel’s facilities. With regards to our location, should you stay with us again, you may wish to take advantage of either the hotel’s complimentary weekday morning shuttle or catch one of the many buses up to the city centre, travel being free within the CBD limits.
Regards

Not what I expected from a hyatt.
Nice lobby and that's about it.

Rooms plain and dated. Bathrooms where crappy. Bath over shower filthy bath mat.
I could sit on the crapper and shave.
Small !
Just not a nice place to stay.
I'm a plat member which meant nothing

Our initial impression was not great – we parked in the adjoining carpark as the Hyatt parking was already full, walked up an escalator that was not working and entered the hotel through scaffolding.

The lobby area is impressive and the check in polite and efficient. The general accommodation area is amazingly bland and uninspiring – a featureless airport walkway comes to mind as a description. Rooms are not well signposted.

Our room itself however, was very “beige” but more than adequate. The kingsize bed was comfortable, pillows and doona were nice and puffy, and linens white and crisp. Extra towels had been provided and these were new and fluffy. The only downside to the bathroom was the absence of a fan – the glass fogged up after a shower, and water escaped from the shower onto the floor as the glass partition was not anchored to the bath. A good range of toiletries were supplied.

Breakfast included a vast array of options with eggs being cooked to order. This caused a huge queue to form and hence a wait for your breakfast selection – not a huge concern though as you knew your eggs were fresh.

We purchased a “Spring Special” which included a night’s accommodation, breakfast and parking – a great deal!

HINT – “The Burger Bistro” is a good alternative to eating in the hotel. Turn left after exiting the hotel and walk approximately a block. We were very impressed with their “no-carb” option burger.

Dear Freocreatures
Thank you for your comments and we are very pleased you made the most of our “spring special” offer.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the Centre’s escalators being under maintenance as well as the scaffolding - the latter being necessary as part of ongoing improvement works to the hotel.
We have noted your feedback regarding Cafe breakfast and will look to see how we can address this while still providing guests with fresh breakfast items straight from the pan to the plate.
We hope to welcome you back to the hotel one day soon so you can see the finished roof and enjoy all that the hotel has to offer.
Regards

I recently stayed for one night at the Regency Perth after a long weekend trip primarily to taste some delicious wines and check out WA. The hotel sits in the middle of Perth which makes it easy, but it didn't feel as warm as some Hyatts. The check in was easy and the room was nice, but nothing was fantastic. The bathroom is quite small and it all somehow feels too spread out to give that warm feeling. It was nice for 1 night, but I didn't have the "I need to get back here soon feeling."
