If you're after a peaceful night away from the daily grind consider spending a night in style at the Hyatt Regency Perth. Their club floor is at the top of the hotel and if you get a room city side you are in for a peaceful night, no street noise or wind off the river. Also the access to the club lounge and their evening drinks and canapes and continental breakfast just make the stay that much more relaxing. They've got it covered.

Room Tip: Booking allows for requests, if you're ask for peace and quiet just ask.

I am a Hyatt Gold Passport Member and have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Perth twice before over the last couple of years and always been impressed, this time however, we were left a bit ill. Upon check in on Fri 9th Nov we were greeted with a warm welcome. We were staying for 2 nights and had reserved a King Room on the Bonus 99 Special (stay 2 nights @ $205/nt and receive a complimentary $99 food and wine voucher to use during our stay). We were kindly offered an upgrade at the cost of $100 to a Junior Suite with access to the Regency Club (offers complimetary breakfast and evening drinks and canapes daily), we jumped at the offer as we had experienced the Regency Club before and thought it was a fantastic deal. We headed up to our room (huge room! if not a bit too sparsely furnished for my liking) to get ready to head out to a Top Gear Live show later in the evening. We ordered some room service for lunch before heading over the the Regency Club for evening drinks before our show. We both ordered the Club Sandwich and tucked in, very generous serve and rather tasty. The Regency Club was as impressive as ever, great selection of canapes and drinks to wash them down. We enjoyed watching a beautiful sunset sipping our drinks and headed out to our show. The next morning we both woke to feeling not the best but went ahead and ordered the Aussie Breakfast (bacon, eggs, sausage, hash brown, toast, breakfast bakeries, jams, fruit salad, coffee and juice, very big!). We had both woken to terrible diarrhea, and this continued all day for the both of us and we stayed close to the bathroom. We missed lunch and went on to the Regency Club for evening drinks again, we seemed to be improving! Again, we could not fault the Regency Club, lovely service with a smile and oh that view! We filled up on the great selection of canapes and decided dinner was no longer necessary. The next morning we rose again to still bouts of diarrhea and got ready to check out. We had been given a late one of 1pm, again compliments of the hotel and their considerate staff. Upon check out there was a small problem with the bill, we had misunderstood the upgrade charge. We had assumed the $100 charge was to upgrade for our stay, but, in actual fact, it was a nightly upgrade charge. The staff kindly met us half-way and settled quickly on a $150 fee for an upgrade and also waived the small remaining charges on our room service bill since we exceeded the $99 bonus voucher. We were more than happy with this as it was obvious we had misunderstood the upgrade offer. Overall, our stay was truly lovely. It's just a shame about the obvious food poisoning we experienced, at no stage during the weekend did we eat anywhere else other than at the Hyatt, so we have concluded it must have been the Club Sandwiches that did it. We can easily put this aside and we will consider returning to the Hyatt again. Their staff are the greatest asset, oh and of course the views!

Room Tip: Standard King Rooms are generous in size. If available, opt for a Regency Club Room which will prov...

We stayed at the Hyatt due to its location, just around the corner from Gloucester Park race course.
The satff wrere very friendly, service OK, bit slow in the bar in the foyer, but attentive.

Room was nice and good value at $190 for a river view room.

An enjoyable night, and will return.

Room Tip: highre floor is quieter and better view

Dear Davo1968
It’s great to hear you had an enjoyable time while staying at Hyatt Regency Perth. Our hotel is in close proximity to Gloucester Park, WACA, and Langley Park. It is also in a fortunate position for one of the best views of the Australia Day fireworks display on the Swan River. We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel again one day.

This hotel dates bck to the 1980s, and I stayed once previously in the 1990s. So when it was selected for this meeting I was not optImistic. The location is not great, it is 2km from the CBD, at least the buses are free. But the rooms have been upgraded and are ok, flat screen TVs, but no wifi. The hotel is well kept, the pool is good and the service was good.

In a nut shell you pay for the name, the hotel built in the early 80's is in serious need of a reno. The location is about 2-3 km from the heart of the city. If your looking for value and comparable price other establishments closer to the city centre might be worth a look.

The hotel is typicaly Hyatt Regency standard.

Liked the club room and the canapes was okay.

If you happen to get a room that is far from the lifts, it can be quite a trek.

Hyatts are generally reliable hotels and the Perth Hyatt Regency does not disappoint. Good rooms, well equipped. Excellent staff. Only gripe was the noisy air con which clunked and clicked all night. Like many Perth hotels, it's some distance from the main eating area in Northbridge but the walk is pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view
