We booked this room as a mystery room on Wotif at $100 a night which I think its normally around $150 so that was a bonus, great location, close to a few pubs, public transport etc. Nice, comfortable room, nothing flash but served its purpose, we stayed here for the first three days of our two week stay in WA. My only gripe was the shower, water pressure was like a trickle, not very enjoyable but apart from that the room was fine. Staff very friendly and helpful.
It was the friendly responsive service and great location that were the best features of this hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and functional - typical of the Ibis brand.
The buffet breakfast was good value - hot, nicely cooked, good range of fruits, mueslis and yoghurt, and great pastries. Service in both the dining room and reception was attentive, professional and friendly.
I've stayed in lots of Ibis hotels so know exactly what to expect but I must say the Ibis in Perth is not as well maintained as most of the others. The rooms are fine, but really could do with a facelift and the bathroom really needed an overhaul. Also, both guest lifts were out of order the entire time we were there and we had to use the Service elevator, which involved very long waits. In saying all that, the location of the hotel is excellent, the city centre is literally on your doorstep and it's really handy for great bars and restaurants. Plus it was great value too - so all things considered I would recommend it to other travellers, but warn them not to expect much from the hotel itself.
