“Ibis Perth”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

My recent stay at the Ibis on Murray St wasgood with no unpleasant surprises. I find it to be a great business trip hotel due to its location. I would not necessarily recommend it as a holiday stay for a family due to its limited facilities. Rubix Bar is a great people watching spot. The service was polite, friendly, efficient from all levels whether in the restaurant, at the front desk or from the room service staff.

Was on the 7th floor. Room had very narrow and short small single bed. The room had a constant noise maybe of the heating system or AC units, I had a cockroach in my room, The TV was fixed on its base and couldn't rotate it on its stand, tv remote was missing its battery cover. The hotel room was not comfortable, no sense of luxury, it was adequate at best but was not really somewhere you would want to spend any more time than necessary.

Room Tip: Not sure if there are any good ones.

The rooms are small, but reasonably clean. Has the basic amenities and the buffet breakfast is pretty standard.

The hotels location makes it ideal for a short stay in the city when you don't plan on being in the actual hotel long.

After a 33 hour journey of flying and transiting around airports I finally touched down in Perth just before midnight and after getting thru immigration I eventually arrived @ the hotel just after 01am , tired and looking forward to a shower and a good nights kip .
Check-in with the night shift Ibis reception was very quick and painless,my room was on the 4th floor . It was clean and typically standard for Ibis , I have used Ibis hotels a few times and the Ibis brand speaks for itself . Comfy bed average size room with TV and tea / coffee and normal shower/bathroom .
You have to pay for Wifi in your room 25 Aus dollars a day , there is free Internet station next to reception but its a 1st come 1st served ........ The station isn't "hogged" when I was there people were courteous so there wasn't a long wait .
I ordered a meal from the "out of hours menu " I ordered the mushroom and chicken pasta which was tasty but it was served to me in a "takeaway plastic container" there is no night "after hour cook "in the hotel so my meal was microwaved and you have to collect your meal from reception.
But what I had was tasty I was just a little bit disappointed with the plastic container presentation .
Breakfast was very good lots of choices , something for everyone - from the full hot breakfast to the continental style to the healthy options.
The hotel is in a perfect location in the middle of Perth easy walking distance or short bus / taxi ride to whatever takes your fancy , I stayed for 2 nights prior to flying to Barrow island and then offshore .
This was the first time I have been to Australia and even though I was only in Perth for a short time I really enjoyed my stay and the Ibis hotel was the perfect base for my needs .

The Ibis is in a great location in the heart of the city and shopping precinct. I suspect it is an older hotel that has been renovated in the last few years but they have done a thorough job (for example it has new elevators). Good clean room; a little on the small side but adequate for business / couples travel. Value was OK I suppose as nothing in this area is cheap. I didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast buffet looked very nice. There is car parking in a complex directly behind with a hotel rate of $20 per day which is good for the Perth CBD. I entered and exited multiple times and was only charged once per day, which was nice (I'm not sure if that's the deal, but I wasn't going to query this!).

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street noise on the weekend when several of the local bars are open late.
