We stayed at the Parmelia Hilton for 2 nights prior to a cruise and will definitely stay again when in Perth next. It really was a home away from home. The staff make you feel very welcome and whatever the request they are happy to help.

The breakfast was wonderful and the dining room has a great atmosphere, with enough staff to ensure you are well looked after. The choice for breakfast was massive and special requests are welcome, such as Belgian waffles or real coffee.

The rooms are older (as is the hotel) but it is elegantly chic and the bedding made for an extremely comfy nights sleep. Loved the pillows! Location is great and only a short walk to the Perth CBD or waterfront.

The only draw back is that you can hear noise from other guests while in your room, during our stay we had a wedding party on the same floor who had a hens night in their room and then a very early gathering in the room opposite ours to prepare for the wedding with their door open which made the noise carry into our room.

We felt that this was the exception and wouldn't be a regular event when staying at the hotel and certainly wouldn't stop us booking again.

Very convenient to shopping area and malls. The room we paid for was modern and spacious, but facing construction in front and on the side. After complaining about the noise and the view, they upgraded us to a queen suite on the other side; the furnishings in that room was very outdated, carpet worn out and tired looking. The staff was very nice, restaurant food was surprisingly quite good though.

This hotel ticks the boxes that a business traveller requires with a good location in the CBD. The check-in was efficiently completed in a couple of minutes - the room furnishing was OK - the aircon control system looked to be 20 years old, but worked well. View from the window was an uninspiring building. A very comfortable bed with a good in-room pillow selection. Internet connection speed was sufficient. A good breakfast buffet was available and the general level of service attitude was very good throughout the hotel.

A taxi rank is located immediately outside the hotel front door and taxis were waiting on every occasion I needed one. For the business traveller needing a location in the CBD - well recomended.

If you are here on vacation with a family, this will not be the best hotel for you. Although there is a swimming pool, it is tiny - as it the fitness room. Nowhere for kids to let off steam.

We stayed here for the last weekend of the school holidays as a treat to ourselves and our kids ( 7 and 5 ).
$200 ( booked in December ) got us
Interconnecting rooms on the 7th floor ( one king bed / 2 singles in 2nd room )

The pool is small but adequate
Gym is small, but I used it twice and both times it was empty - work out towels and water dispenser.

Rooms -
A little dated - chipped cupboards / worn carpet. Fridges not very cold.
linen great / fluffy towels.
Crabtree and Evelyn body products
Good instant coffee / tea

Food
Room service very expensive - $10 for a slice of garlic bread ( yes one )
Breakfast - held in the new Globe restaurant. Cost $38 ( buy one get one free ) and children under 10 free. So amazing value. The service was fantatsic - shown to the table, offered tea ( loose leaf ) , coffee and hot chocolate for the kids. A huge assortment of food on offer.

Check in / out was good
Kids also got a free 'holiday backpack"
Cleaning staff were great - always friendly / smiling / helpful.

So impressed with the service that I have booked another weekend later in the year.

Stayed one night and were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Some of the furniture is a little bit dated but the bed was enormous & comfortable, and all the amenities provided were fine (fluffy white towels, plentiful toiletries etc). Unfortunately construction on the building next door got underway quite early (7.30am I think) and breakfast is currently being held in one of the function rooms (but I think the restaurant reopens this week).

A perfectly reasonable hotel and a good base for any activities in the CBD or Northbridge.
