Had 3 nights in a King Executive Suite. Was clean , spacious and with all the extras you would expect. Room service were polite. Swimming pool is small but clean with no real view. But expected with a CBD hotel. The Gym was modern but small.
Great location building looks old fashion but the staff are friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: Room 924 is nice. There lifts are poor though.

My wife and I stayed in room 934 from 24-27 Dec. Overall the hotel was average even allowing for the fact that it was Christmas and the hotel was clearly short staffed. Hotel has a very tired look and feel and if all rooms are like ours then a makeover is desparately needed.

As a HH Diamond member I was aware there was no Exec Lounge but that means the hotel has ot get the basics right. It was a real stuggle to get complimentary water and the room cleaned on a daily basis. Room had usually not been cleaned by the time we returned late afternoon (5pm).

The only sign of refurbishment in the hotel was an upgrade programme for the lifts but this meant we waited for 20 mins for a lift to arrive at the 9th floor on Christmas Day! Not good enough.

Pool is too small with very few loungers to be useful or comfortable. Gym was OK.

Staff in the hotel were usually helpful (especially the foreign staff) and the Asian gentleman (sorry, I didn't catch his name) who served everyone with a huge smile at breakfast each day was a real credit to the hotel. Otherwise service was average at best.

Hotel was well located for central Perth and CBD but if we returned to Perth it's unlikely we'd stay here again.

Room Tip: King's Park is closeby and recommended for a relaxing stroll.

Dear kluku

Thank you very much for your detailed review.

It is disappointing there were aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations and I’m very sorry you have left with a poor impression. I completely agree it is important to get the small things right and I am very sorry for the shortfall you describe. Your comments have been reviewed with the teams concerned for corrective action.

We are undertaking extensive refurbishment in the Hotel at the moment, including a brand new restaurant on the ground floor, the Adelphi Grill, which will open later this year. We are also upgrading our guest elevators and I’m very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the delay on Christmas Day.

There is also a programme of improvements in the pipeline for our guest rooms in 2013 which will provide a fresh new look. In the meantime, the Hotel offers a range of styles so please let us know your preferences when you make your next booking.

Naturally, I’m delighted you enjoyed our great location and took advantage of our close proximity to Kings Park.

Thank you again. We do hope you will consider returning to stay with us again.

Kind regards

Firstly the team here could be at the Ritz they are so good. Charming, friendly, very well trained, work as a team, professional and knowledgable.

The hotel is tired, the decor is very 1970's even the refurbished rooms. We started off in a second floor executive room where the sliding doors were bolted shut giving no access to the balcony. The room was huge and furnishings were quality although dated, perfectly clean. Because the hotel is in the CBD it's surrounded by tall buildings making our room dull. We asked if they had another room and were moved to floor 8, far better! Enormous, refurbished (although they should get a designer in as they could do so much more) balcony and glimpse of the swan river through the buildings.

Good pool area and it's nicely done.

Summing up we had a really great stay, I'll forgive the decor because the staff were so good. Whoever manages this hotel should be extremely proud of them.

I can not understand the negative reviews for the Parmelia Hilton. For me it is the most professional hotel I have stayed in with beautiful comfortable rooms including the best bed I have ever slept in. The meals are fabulous, as are the staff.
It might be that the hotel is being renovated, but the staff will make up for that.

The place needs an overhaul in particular given what you pay per night. The room was very hot and had limited means of controlling the temperature. It is a good location as well as the restaurant and service for breakfast was great.

I am currently staying here. It's crying out for a much needed overhaul.
I won't bother describing the 1st room I was given. The fitout of all rooms out date me! Yes even the 'upgraded' ones.
They are doing some upgrade works (on the lifts) but this place needs a complete overhaul.
In fact I hope Hilton has their eyes set on a new property in Perth.

The city of Perth is Redeveloping the riverside and this may prove an ideal location.
Elizabeth Quay (formerly Perth Waterfront) is a $2.6billion project that will return the city's focus to the iconic Swan River and enhance Perth’s reputation as one of the most liveable cities in the world. It is the centrepiece of a bold plan to revitalise central Perth.

All hotels in Perth except Burswood are expensive and underwhelming and the Hilton Parmelia no different. Excellent location, very large king size rooms that are quiet (there is huge variability in room types so check what you book) wifi is not free and breakfast $38 and ok quality made up by very good espresso.
I like staying here because of the location close to business meetings, and like it's quirky 60's and 70's retro style that I have not worked out whether it is intentional or it has not changed since the 70's. In some hotels they would have paid a designer big money to get the 70's look, much easier to wait until the look comes back every 30 years.
You are certainly not staying in a slick modern hotel, but it's location for business makes up for this. Staff are friendly and helpful.
