Reminded me of an old fashion hotel at the front desk then the room reminded me of a former life. The bathroom decoration was orange and brown tiles.... Nice!
People started coming in around 0230-0430 and that was the end of my nights sleep.
Internet $10 and very slow
That said cheap and cheerful, great location and clean and a single bed!

This was the cheaper place I could find in Perth. It was okay, but only okay. Traveling as a solo bloke on a business trip, the small room without ensuite was acceptable, but if I was here with someone els then I would have checked out and gone elsewhere. Did not find reception staff helpful, very suprisingly unwelcome for Australia. Wireless Internet is expensive and next to useless, think along the terms of old fashioned dial-up, it's that sort of speed and reliability and not practical for business use.

The whole place is very dated, but that said was clean and tidy. Good location, very easy access to the city centre, almost next door to underground, and train station just around the corner.

So the place is okay but just don't expect too much.

Yeah, ok. It's old. But that's it's charm. Very high ceilings, large rooms, central central central location. And a great price for the location. You are right in the heart of Perth. The staff are fabulous. I've stayed in European old hotels and this one is right up there with them. Very nice. If you want the Hilton experience, this isn't it. If you want a clean and old world charm experience, in a great central location at a very competitive rate. Then this is it.

Spent three nights there on an NZ/Australia vacation. Hotel prices in Perth are just crazy (had some problems in Sydney too despite booking a month ahead, but this it much worse), I did not have the money to spend 375 AUD or more per night for accomodation and this was the only alternative I could find bar backpackers.

Paid 130 AUD per night for a room without bathroom, old room but there is air conditioning, a ceiling fan, the bed/matress real good. NIce big screen TV.

Wi-Fi is available from the hotel for a price, but I could actually get free Perth City Wi-Fi, albeit slow and with a weak signal.

The male bathroom (card access) was just across the lobby from my room door, clean and all, no complaint.

Overall I was reasonably happy with this hotel, if Perth had "normal" prices, a room like this would be 80 AUD a night max, but as things are this was good damage limitation...

And yes, as others have mentioned, this hotel is VERY central.

The price is inviting compared to other hotels. Very clean basic hotel room. No en-suite though! Shared bathroom which was very clean but didn't feel as comfortable as expected after a long flight. Friendly staff, lovely busy bar/restaurant! Seems to be the busiest in the centre. Location is bang in the middle of the town!

Like most Hotels in Perth, very expensive for what you get - but the location is a big plus. There are some nice pubs nearby however be prepared to pay big time for the privilege of a drink. The staff do their best and are quite helpful. Lift was not working which was a first for us as we have stayed here before and it was fine. Perth has outrageous Hotel prices and you need to consider is it really worth visiting for a couple of nice beaches. Food in restaurants likewise is very expensive.
Far better value in Melbourne or Sydney and a lot more to see.

At the outset - the hotel is in a great location. Right at the top of Murray Street Mall and sitting in between two great food/drink venures . . but ithe place needs work.

I have stayed there three times over 18mths - and the lift has always been OUT OF ORDER - it is an older hotel which has pluses and minuses . . . but having a lift that works must surely be a high issue for the building owners . . three stikes out of three . . Perth is an expensive city for hotels - but a working lift is not too much to expect when you are pay pretty high rates.

Also - some of the rooms hav no windows . . this did not worry me, but it may bother others.

On the up side is the loation - the high ceilings and lovely wodden furniture . . older style furniture . . but something about solid wood give a room a good feel. Also as mentioned - the hotel sits between "Moon and Sixpence" pub and "The Boheme" which are great food and drink places and you can charge back to your room.

Breakfast is available at "The Boheme" which has a direct door from the lobby . . but NO hot food . . WHAT . ? OK -at $9.50 the breakfast option is cheap - but a body often needs more than toast and corn flakes.

Location is great and the food is also great - but out of spite I would not stay here again unless the lift is working.

Room Tip: Some rooms have no windows - if this worries you be sure to check with the hotel staff about your ro...
