Stayed for one night only on business. Was very impressed with the staff, particularly Alex on reception when I arrived, she was very friendly and helpful. A warm welcome like that makes a big difference to any hotel. The amenities basket provided in the room as an IHG member was great, small bottle of wine, chips and nuts. Having arrived late in the evening this was ideal.
The room itself was good, reasonably spacious with a good bed. Breakfast was quite basic but redeemed by being able to order fresh eggs.
Overall what would be a pretty standard hotel is made very good by the quality of the staff.

Thanks for the wonderful review; I am delighted you experienced a warm friendly welcomed by Alex along with the other great staff at the hotel, certainly pleased to read you enjoyed the amenity basket which we offer in our King and Queen Executive rooms along with the ability to order fresh eggs to your liking at breakfast, we also offer freshly prepared French toast or Pancakes for future reference.

The team and I look forward to warmly welcoming you back when you next venture to the west.

I stayed here whilst on a business trip in March. I was there for 9 nights and wasnt expecting the best when told this is where I was staying.

The lobby and entrance is a little cramped with the bar spilling over and around the front foyer and undercover area near the street. Can be a bit noisy especially on the weekends. The lifts are small but frequent and its a typical small corridors.

Having joined the IHG preferred guest program at christmas I was able to use this card upon checkin and got an upgrade to a king bed room. The room was pretty good size with enough space to work at a desk, lounge on the couch or bed. I also got complimentary amenities with my OHG card which includes chips, nuts, chocolate, water and a small bottle of wine every day. I thought this was a great touch. Also as a long stay guest, complimentary movie per week, even though they still charged at checkout.

The bathrooms are a bit old, but did the job.

Overall the property served its purpose. The room was comfortable and pretty good value for perth considering perth was very busy during the time I was there. I would stay there again as was a good location and close to our offices.

Room Tip: It served its purpose. It was a good size room, and be comfortable for two people stayiong for a lon...

Landed here at the start of our trip to Australia. Staff very helpful on initial encounter & no query was too much for them particularly Megan who was more than helpful. Room very well appointed with comfortable beds.

Location was amazing & within walking distance from shopping streets, Kings Park & train station which we used to visit Cottlesloe beach & Freemantle. We found prices of everything to be very expensive in Perth.

Only downside was the price charged for wifi but we found this to be the case in every city we visited in Oz with the exception of our apartment in Port Douglas. Hotels need to cop themselves on & move with the times instead of ripping us off!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Perth for location & friendliness.

Dear mollieNorthEast,

Thanks so much for your review. I am delighted to read you found our staff to be friendly and providing the assistance you required to make your stay in Perth fulfilling and comfortable; especially Megan who was delighted to receive your feedback too.

I also appreciate your comment around the cost of WiFi in Perth and the hotel, please be advised that we do offer free standard WiFi to all our IHG Rewards Club members. Membership is free to join and if you’re not a member, you can join when staying at any IHG hotel anywhere in the world.

It was wonderful to read you were able to see some of Western Australia’s best tourist destinations such as Kings Park, Cottlesloe Beach and Fremantle which are all wonderful areas.

The team and I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel when you next visit Perth.

Warm regards,

We (2 adults and 3 kids) started our holiday in Australia by staying in this hotel for one night. Main reason for choosing this one was the location directly in the city centre. Family room was ok, but from space point of view I wouldn't imagine staying over there for several nights with a family. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, nothing compared to Holiday Inn in Singapore. Anyway, the hotel was good value for the money and in general "ok" choice for a short stay.

(Btw, if your kids fancy a swim, there's no pool in this hotel.)

Dear Suzindo,

I appreciate you taking a moment of your time to write a review from your recent family holiday to Australia.

If you found our family room to a bit tight on space, we do also offer interconnected rooms which provide more space.

I am sorry to hear that you found our breakfast somewhat disappointing and I hope you were aware of the variety of eggs cooked to order we have on offer.

With respect to the hotel not having a swimming pool, we do offer complimentary passes to the Beatty Park aquatic centre (reasonably close to the hotel) which has a range of heated and non-heated swimming pools.

Suzindo, thanks again and I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the heart of Perth city sometime in the near future.

Warm regards,

No complaints at all. Of all of the places I looked at the HI Perth was the best value. I was happy and would definitely stay again.

Location is fantastic, nice bar, great breakfast.

They were happy to switch the ham out for smoked salmon on my eggs Benedict which was very good.

No matter where you stay in Perth, you are likely to get sticker shock from the prices. This is where having a free night certificate from the Chase IHG Visa comes in very handy! At the time we stayed, room rates were over $300! Not a bad deal for a $49 annual fee! Of course you can always use 35,000 points for a free room as well.

The location is excellent – right downtown and walking distance to almost everything. What you can’t walk to, you can get to using the free CAT buses. There are plenty of restaurants in all price categories nearby and we enjoyed our dinner of Mexican takeaway from across the street. If you aren’t up for a taxi fare, bus # 37 will drop you a couple blocks away. The Rottnest Ferry terminal is also only a few blocks away.

The staff were very friendly and happy to show us things like where to catch a CAT bus or how to get to Hertz and the Coles Supermarket so we could stock up for the trip. Rooms are pretty much cookie-cutter Holiday Inn, clean, reliable and free internet for IHG Rewards members.

The one criticism I have is the cost of parking. They offer $20 self-parking nearby or $35 valet under the hotel, both of which I thought were too expensive. The cheapest I could find was the Wilson garage at 517 Hay Street. If you know your rego number (unlikely if you are renting a car) you can book online for $7. Otherwise there is a night rate of $10 if you only park between 1700-0600.

Dear Tikibird,

I am very grateful for your review about your recent stay with us. I am also delighted you were able to utilise an IHG Rewards nights to stay with us. It certainly pays to be a member of IHG rewards for the free nights.

Our location is without doubt first class, right in the heart of Perth CBD which is as you have noted, close to almost everything you would want to see and close to public transport if you wish to venture further out of the city.

Our team are always delighted to read guest reviews and grateful you have acknowledged the friendly, caring attitude of our staff.

I have also noted your comment on parking and by way of explanation; we offer 2 options to provide our guests with 24 hour access to their vehicles. Whilst I acknowledge parking is not cheap in the city, from a hotel perspective, we offer the least expensive option in comparison to other nearby hotels.

Thank you again for your kind review and we will be very pleased to welcome you back to the hotel when you next visit Perth.

Warmest regards,
