“A quiet place in the city”

The gardens here are beautiful, you fell like you are in the gardens of a large estate not right in the heart of East Perth. Wander around and sit down and eat your picnic. No food outlets but that makes it even easier to do it on the cheap. Take a book and spread out the blanket and enjoy the peace.

I love the way that the water between the water lillies is always clear, and the little fish that are food for the swans and other water birds - always seem so plentiful.. Guess it is because the Lilly pads give them places to hide, while lowering the summer heat with the thick leathery leaves. The flowers are also so very photographic.. and Always photograph a Black Swan..

Knew nothing of its history, in fact have driven past it many times without knowing it was here.
But we were staying at the new Fraser Suites and could see it from our room.
Went for an early morning walk and it is a lovely peaceful retreat from what is now becoming a very busy bustling city.

Got married there in 1971. It has changed a bit since then, but so have I. Still a great place to go.

I fell upon this little haven whilst cycling back from seeing the WACA (cricket ground to you and me!). It is a small little reserve but full of beautiful trees and plants as well as a gorgeous pond which was inhabitted by ducks and their young when I visited. It is a quiet place which is used by all ages to either sit in, play games in or walk through.Definitely a place to spend time in if you are in the area; there is also a bronze statue of Peter Pan at the centre which has some interesting additions to it around the base - I'll leave you to discover what those are!
