Richards of Northbridge Bed and Breakfast

We stayed in a neat, clean and pleasant room and house run by a considerate yet unobtrusive host for nearly a week. The house was in a very central to the city and many restaurants and cafés. Convenient free parking for a rental car. We have enjoyed our stay here. We highly recommended Richard's and thank you Neil :) :) :)

Stayed here with my partner for seven nights over New Year 2014. Perth was our first city on a month long tour of Australia. I cannot praise Richard and Neal highly enough - they both made us feel so welcome. Both went above and beyond the call of duty. Neal drove us to the ferry terminal one morning so that we could catch our ferry down the Swan River and Richard took us to the airport on our departure day. Neal and Richard were more than happy to share suggestions on where to go and what to see and we would certainly stay again on our next visit to Perth. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the breakfasts excellent.
The B&B is located on a residential street in Northbridge. Northbridge itself is a little boisterous but the area around the hotel is perfectly quiet. There are some good bars and restaurants near by and the B&B is a comfortable 15 minute walk to the city centre.
Overall, a great stay - highly recommended !

We had booked our final 4 nights @ Richards after a 5 week tour of Aus. I was a little apprehensive about booking a b&b but after reading many rave reviews on Tripadvisor I took the plunge. It really is a great place to stay. Neil ( Richard was travelling the world at the time ) was a host par excellence. He could not have been more hospitable. He made us feel so welcome and his service and breakfasts were outstanding. There are only 2 en-suite rooms. We had the upstairs unit. Large and comfortable with all amenities. I cannot recommend this establishment enough and it is located a short walk from so many restaurant choices.

We spent three nights in this very comfortable B&B. We had the downstairs bedroom which opened out on to a very pretty small garden complete with outdoors bath. We were made felt so welcome and our host went out of his way to explain all the local transport, food and service issues. All so very helpful.

We flew in from Thailand and spent a couple of days with our friends, then as he flew back to Sydney we looked for accommodation usual quality hotel for me always has to be right preferably 5 star, looked on trip advisor and as I was perusing them all I came across Richards bed and breakfast, don't ask why but we went off and thought we would take a chance, let me put it this way, you know when your numbers come up on the lottery, well the same for Richards, unbelievable, spotless, accommodating, friendly, great food, fabulous hosts Neal and Richard. Do not be fooled and attracted by a 5star establishment if you want it all including location then go to Richards B&B and don't be fooled by the size when you arrive, it is like the Tardis ! Huge inside it is mind blowing, where are we staying when we go back to Perth for a break Richards (4 nights including breakfast was less than one night in a 5 Star without ) cannot express our gratitude we found it and they had the room.

Room Tip: Any room seriously you won't be disappointed , excellent quality of bed linen so much so we boug...

We were well looked after by Neal as Richard was away travelling. We had the first floor room which had a lovely view over Perth CBD which looked particularly lovely at night. Northbridge is close to the City Centre although at present major road and rail works are taking place to give easier access too Northbridge which is split in 2 due to the railway. Eventually the railway is to be underground at this point.
Neal was very helpful telling us how to get easily around the City and over to Freemantle on the ferry and returning by train also where to pick up the free bus service around the City - The Cat Bus. He also cooks a superb breakfast and is charming. Excellent value for money and a real treat whether you are Gay or Heterosexual. If ever in Perth again would not hesitate to stay at Richard's B & B you certainly receive a warm welcome.

Room Tip: The first floor room is almost a mini appartment and has a lovely view of Perth CBD. Also very quiet...
