“Good facilities”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

I like the exhibition centre, it's pretty well laid out, good accessibility for people in wheelchairs.

“Great big splodge of concrete with windows facing, well...nothing”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

The news of a possible make-over for the PCEC(March 2013) is the only good thing about the present monstrosity by the Swan.

Any Convention Centre re-do must, as so many others have said, make use of expansive glass re-orientating the building towards the river. Even the present concrete slug of a thing would look better with sinewy glass replacing the current back of the structure.

Yes, the building works well internally - but most of us experience it as a piece of external architecture which is in desperate need of fixing or bulldozing.

“Ball of 2013”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Great night, lovely view good buffet. The night was a sport group event and the room was made for a ball style with dancing, power point demo etc and it all went well. I dislike bufffet dining as a rule but he food was delicious ven though we had to wait for a while to get it.

“It depends on the occasion”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

I recently attended a private function for a Perth organisation with about 400 guests here and found it to be the perfect venue. It has ample space and is easily accessible by public transport (during the day) and car. Parking is a bit deer but plentiful and you shouldn't get lost finding it (It's the big white sheering shed with a surf board on top).
However, for graduation ceremonies and musical functions it falls short, with poor acoustics and limited services surrounding the centre. It could definitely use a bump from the new Elizabeth Quays development nearby. It is currently isolated from Perth's cultural precincts and has little to do once your visit is complete without walking a fair distance.

“Adam Hills & the theatre a big hit”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Went to see Adam Hills live in concert with about 2000 others at the Perth Convention centre - the place was packed and it was fabulous. Even though we sat at the back we could see and hear perfectly, the seats were very comfortable, it was the right temperature, and it had a great atmosphere. Adam Hills was brilliant and it was all only for $45 or $49. Parking was underneath and a bit of a snarl and had to wait to get out and huge queues at ticket machines afterwards. Go early! Plenty of nice toilets. A bit of a walk from car to theatre. Very modern.
