Owner description: Perth's favourite playground, the Swan River is a stunning waterway which winds its way from the Darling Scarp to Fremantle. This natural attraction is popular location for Perth locals and visitors to enjoy a day out boating, fishing, skiing, paddling, swimming, picnicking or simply enjoying its vista.Rich in environmental and cultural values, the Swan River was named Derbal Yerrigan by the local Aboriginals who believe that the river was created by the rainbow serpent ‘Waugal’, a dreamtime spirit taking the form of a giant snake. It is believed that the Waugal created creeks, waterholes, lakes and valleys on its journey to the ocean.

“Lovely Cruise on Swan River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

We were staying in Fremantle and booked a Swan River cruise to Perth and back. It was a beautiful day and we were lucky to get a seat on the outer deck, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon cruising up the river. Had an hour in Perth so took the ferry over to the South bank where we had lunch then took the cruise back to Fremantle. A gorgeous lazy day.

“Captain Cook Swan river cruise.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

Excellent day trip, well worth the money, wonderful experience. Wine good and plentiful during cruise, Very good lunch with top wines followed by tour of winery and then more wine sampling. Cruise back to Perth entertainment, food, more wine and beverages available. Crew on board made the trip a pure pleasure from start to finish.

“Great round trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

Didn't understand ferry round trip timetables but fortunately found the orange ferry offering round trip 10am returning 3:30 for $37.
Interesting biased commentary from captain on the way down and dolphin chasing on the way back.
Loved Fremantle and timings perfect for a day out.

“Gorgeous”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

Took a trip here on the way to Rottnest and it's very nice. Big enough to cater for boats, fishermen, kite surfers and windsurfers. Lots of little beaches dotting the no doubt expensive homes but very nice.
