I just want to say that staying at the Regal Apartments was great. It's a great quiet location with a lot nearby or just a short drive away or bus trip away.

We enjoyed our four day stay at the Regal Apartments. We were a little concerned by some of the negative expereinces chronicled by other travellers on this website but, I am pleased to say that our room, although it had not been completely refurbished, was clean and comfortable and the staff were very professional and obliging. We intend to stay there again.

It's a shame I didn't read previous reviews before booking into Regal apartments.Having just stayed there this last weekend most of comments from previous reviews rang true. Not very encouraging when you first get into the lift and it is filthy with the largest carpet stain ever seen, which leads you into dirty carpeted hallways.Within the apartment itself there was a sink that had a large brown stain matching the lift one, the glass table had one corner broken off and masking tape holding a piece of wood in the corner where the glass had broken. The walls were dirty and needed a good wash, the wooden shutters in the lounge and other bedroom were dilapidated and broken, the overhead lighting in the kitchen had two out of four lights working whilst the bathroom had one in three working, the remote for the TV (which is hopelessly outdated) didn't work , the bedroom cupboard was damaged and I could go on... which leads me to my final point, I previously stayed here 5 and a half years ago and the place then was terrific however it has dropped it's standards apallingly.Would not recommend to anyone!!!

We stayed at the Regal Apartments from late October 09 to early November and the apartments were disgusting. We arrived late and had to obtain our keys from the "locked box" at the front door - it was not locked. The apartment we had been allocated was on the fourth floor and when we entered the apartment we noticed a light on in the second bedroom. At first we thought someone was already in the apartment, but then noticed the bed from this bedroom was out in the living area with a picture leaning against the end of the bed. Also on the floor was a bundle of dirty rags. Contacted the night person and he came around about 25 minutes later and told us they were painting the apartment, but it was clean and we should be OK. We protested as the floor was filthy, the furntiure was dirty and the tea towel hanging on the stove looked as though it had never been washed in years. He then said he would "check" the computer downstairs to see if he could find another apartment for us. About 30 minutes later he returned and said he had found one on the first floor which was a much better apartment!! It was slightly better as the furniture was reasonably clean. However, the rest of the apartment was filthy and had a strange smell. As it was now getting late we had no other option, but to take the apartment. We cleaned down all the benches and tables, etc with disinfectant wipes and washed all the cultery and dishes before using them. it would appear that these apartments have not had a good clean for many, many months or years. Also Key Apartments are strictly non smoking, but it appears you can smoke on your balconies - result when you open your doors you get a burst of cigarette smoke in your apartment. The fly screen doors do not have latches for security is very bad. Additionally, the fly screeen door on the main lounge area was broken and could not be shut. We were not game to turn on the airconditioning units for fear of what might have come out - they obviously would not have been cleaned in years. Also they messed up our security access to the apartment block on the second day and as a result we were locked out at around 7pm at night, so we once again had to call the after hours number - he took about 30 minutes to arrive.
No way would be ever consider going back to these apartments.

We appreciate any feedback, but feel a little disappointed that you did not inform us directly at the front desk at any time during the five nights you stayed. We take all feedback seriously and rectify any problems and attend to them straight away. We are currently refurbishing the entire complex and unfortunately a mistake was made in the booking/cleaning department, which we apologise for. We currently have over 50% repeat business which I think shows that we must be doing something right. We will contact you directly for a more personal feedback.

It seems Regal has got it together and has started refurbishing most of the rooms, I stayed in one and thought great value, the location is supurb.only 100 mtrs to shops
and fabulous bar/resturants right on the water. took the FREE bus into the CBD everyday.
they haven't finished yet but would recommend to all.

Each April we try and visit Perth to celebrate our son's birthday. This year we decided to try Regal apartments, as usual place was booked out. I have to say that once bitten, well and truly twce shy......we will not be returning to Regal apartments.

It's is interesting to read some of the previous reviews and wish I had before we booked - don't know why as I always read and contribute to these reviews. Anyway onto the Regal...what a rip-off it all is - for us it averaged out at $190 a night over a 5 night stay.

When we entered our room, the first thing we noticed was the smell, not a pleasant one. We were then struck by how dull and depressing the room was.....old, grubby, worn out furniture. Tried to turn on the the television and the remote only wanted to work if you were literally centremetres away from it. The bathroom was huge and we realised for a disabled guest. We did ask the receptionist one day if all the rooms were set up for the disabled. Her response was that because we were staying for longer than most guests we were given one of the better rooms, ie much better furniture we were told. One wonders how horrible the other rooms were. Our son was the first to lift the cover on the air-con, only to see how filthy it was and ditto, all three air-cons were the same - disgusting. The bathroom despite being huge was ugly, run down and as a previous writer observed, the cupboards all rotting away and the insides mouldy and in all honesty, who would want to use a plastic toothrbrush holder on the bathroom wall - eeks!!! The kitchen cupboards were greasy, there was no light in the rangehood and wipe marks could be seen on doors - who knows what was wiped off and never properly rinsed away - more eeks!!.

For $190 we should have had tissues, writing paper, shampoo, conditioner, Foxtel etc, etc in these rooms - I'm dreaming no doubt!

I have written to both Regal apartments and also Discoverwest (we booked through them) and told them of our woes. The reply from Discoverwest was to say they would forward it the Regal - um, seeing as I had cc'd Discoverwest that wasn't really necessary and the response from Regal was to offer 10% off a return visit - wow, I'm sure to rush that, NOT!

When John and I book to stay somewhere we want to have more than just a bed for the night (we found there's really uncomfortable along with the lumpy pillows), we like having somewhere inviting to return to.......Regal isn't and the shame is that they are in a great area, the rooms are large and it could be such a great place - it surely isn't.
