Housed in a beautiful old building constructed in 1907, this restaurant has interior decor to match. Dim lighting and easy listening music complete the ambience. The staff are friendly...though ancillary plates and empty beer bottle was not cleared from the table when completed and there was a bit too much noise coming from the kitchen. Bread with condiments and some other nibblies were complimentary. The scotch fillet steak I had for main was just okay. But the chocolate plate I had for dessert was sensational (one of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted)..so I'm going to have to give 1907 five stars.

Visiting this restaurant is a wonderful dining experience. This was our second visit. The first was for a pre-show dinner so we were constrained by time, though our every need was accommodated and we vowed to return for a more leisurely meal, which we did. Starting off in the New York style cocktail bar set the scene. As soon as the bar staff saw us stand up to go up stairs for our meal someone came to escort us up in the lift. The plush booths are ideal for intimate dining. The service is absolutely outstanding and the surprises (bread and dips; canapes; sorbet before dessert; petit fours with coffee not to mention the thank you gift when leaving) just wowed us. The food was cooked to perfection - so nice to find chefs who truly know how to prepare meat "medium rare".

The only slight criticism was the wine waiter - she wasn't convincing in her ability to recommend wine to accompany our food choices and seemed to agree too quickly to what we were thinking, not suggesting alternatives. Although she did the right (and rare in Perth) thing in bringing the bottle to the table to pour our wine by the glass, we weren't shown the bottle. But that's just nit-picking. We had a wonderful, wonderful experience and full compliments to Head Chef Alan Desouza and Sous Chef Brian Grunewald for their innovative and utterly delicious menu. The maitre d' should open a school to train wait staff - he is impeccable. We'll definitely be back - thanks for a fabulous night.

Had the Petit Degustation with the complementary wine selections... just amazing. The experience was great, nice cosy place and friendly staff. Highlights were the venison and the wines, also very good were the lamb and bread basket. 10 courses in total including the palate cleansers.

My partner recommends the passionfruit vanilla martini. Cost a bit overall, but the best dining experience I've had.

We have visited 1907 on 3 occasions now. Great food, great service and the fact you can hear yourselves speak without having to shout across the table is wonderful. We will be returning soon for another breakfast goody bag. Best restaurant in Perth for me.

Visited with my wife and we both had the petite dego with matching wines.

Takes a little to find, which we loved. Felt cool. Greeted by lovely staff and set the tone for the rest of the evening. The meal and matching wines were excellent - well worth the price. Wine and food portions were appropriate, and the presentation was faultless.

This is defiantly a winner on the Perth dining scene.
