“The beach went on for miles and miles. The water and waves were small but just nice enough to swim in.”

I'm a shellseeker and a great collection of shells were there on the beach waiting for some great fossicking.

A beautiful beach that has white sand and turquoise shimmering water. A wonderful spot to watch the spectacular sunsets that feature nightly. Highly recommend a camel ride along it. We chose Red Sun camels mainly because they have a higher weight limit of up to 95 kg per person. Zanders bar on the clifftop overlooking the beach is another good place for this and to enjoy a sunset drink. Their prices are comparable to home.(Melbourne) We highly recommend a sunset cruise on the Intombi, a restored pearling lugger. It sails up most of the length of the beach in 3 1/2 hours in a slow leisurely pace. You get to relax, have a drink on board and savour the intoxicating mixture of warm sun, shimmering sea and the beach slipping slowly past. Things don't get much better than this!

Had the pleasure of visiting cable beach in late May 2014. The beach attracts all types from backpackers to couples sharing food while watching the gorgeous sunset.

The beach has a great atmosphere and offers plenty of grassed areas for picnics and plenty of beach space on the firm sand flats. Be careful when swimming as certain times of the year box jellyfish are present in the waters. We were unable to swim one afternoon due to a shark being spotted off the beach.

My tip is to take your 4x4 on to the right of the beach, pack some beer/wine, some fishing rods and stay until sunset. It is absolute bliss! (also for the less experienced beach driver air down your tires to about 20PSI and you wont have any trouble.

Defiantly worth a few visits!

What a great beach, crystal clear turquoise water with white sand as far as you can see in either direction. Coming from the east it's brilliant to watch the amazing sunset over the water and a trip to cable is worth it just for the sunsets alone.

Can you imagine starting the day with a jog along this divine beach, where the sand is white and the water turquoise.? Not to be missed is the camel ride, it may be corny but it's great fun. Celebrate the sunset that turns the sky over the beach to flame with a glass of wine. Zanders on the beach serves delicious fish and chips. You can even be entertained by youngsters practising flame throwing, bongo drums and medieval boxing on the grass nearby. The air is warm and balmy. Paradise!
