I feel like a bit of a cracked record when it comes to Seashells in Broome.... we've stayed enough times to lose count. The good things are nice gardens, best pool in Broome (the last cab driver we had in Broome said that and while I haven't sampled them all I'm reckon she was probably right), and a kitchen and laundry in every room and good clean barbecues for all to share in the gardens. You'll want to make sure you don't pay the big bucks for a room by the car park - there are people who come to Broome to fish, even work. This means they're in their diesel 4WD at 5AM!
The furniture inside the apartments is clean but the comfort levels are nothing to write home about. Doesn't really matter - you'll spend most of your time at Seshells in or around the pool, BBQ, in bed or on your balcony

I have been to Broome three times. I have stayed at Cable Beach Resort twice and on my most recent trip stayed at Seashells Resort. Seashells is stunning. It is close to Cable Beach-my two elder children (4 & 6) could walk to the beach easily. The gardens are superb-with Frangipani trees, Boab Trees and stunning flowers and hedges . The lawns are thick and green. The BBQ facilities are immaculate and cleaned daily. The BBQs are large and the table settings fantastic. We stayed in a 3 bedroom bungalow-I could not fault it. It was very quiet and peaceful in the evenings and of night.
The pool is divine-great kiddie pool for our 18 month old and a huge pool for the rest of us. The water is cooled and sun shades cover most of the pool. There are heaps of sun lounges and we never had a problem finding a spot.
The staff were great and booked tours/restaurants for us free of charge.
I walked through Cable Beach Resort to have a sticky-beak. It looked tired-the gardens (especially towards the rear of the property) were messy and dry. The pool was packed and it would be harder to keep an eye on the kids. I would love to return to Seashells again.
We also had a fantastic lunch at a place called the 12 Mile Cafe. You need a car to get there as it is out of the way but boy oh boy it was worth the drive. Enjoy your holiday.

stayed 5 nights, we did not hire a car as the local bus stop is outside the resort. good value as we had a one bedroom apartment with kitchen and Foxtel!,also air conditioning.great pool!. Cable Beach resort is a short walk ,just around the corner so we would sit in there bar which overlooks cable beach and watch the sun set each night!.Also the Divers hotel have great meals. Seashells don't have a bar or restaurant , but the Zoo restaurant is next door and there is a bar across the street.
Was disappointed in Broome itself , not many shops ,have a woolworths ,Target and Coles . A couple of dress shops ,but very expensive.Broome is not for shopppers unless you are interested in Pearls!

We stayed for 4 nights in the 'Wet' season though we had no rain. Was very hot and as the last reviewer wrote there is no AC in the bedroom, just an old noisy fan which didn't work very well. The door between the bedroom and lounge area is a slatted one, so TV noise goes straight through. Lounge furniture tired and ugly.
However apart from the unit itself the rest of the resort is excellent. Great handy location, lovely pool which was very quiet when we were there. Reception very helpful and the grounds beautiful.
I wouldn't recomend this resort as such though it would probably be ok in the dry season when it's not so hot in the appartment.

aircon in lounge/dining but ceiling fan only in bdroom, no privacy, S09 backed onto a carpark one way and a path into the resort another, and no screening plants, felt on display... we paid in advance nearly $1000 in accomm - but still had to pay $3 a pool towel each for the duration of our stay (did they really need the $6??)... did have great pool, but it closed too early - 9pm, far too early especially when you had to return to a bedroom with no air con... spotlessly clean BBQs and nice grounds...

we stayed in a 3 br villa for 5 days. it was roomy, comfortable, and affordable. the service was excellent, and if you want to be near cable beach, come here. it however has no restaurant, but it is self contained and there is Zoo cafe just around the corner.

Due to incredible amount of rain in NSW decided to cancel camping for the Christmas holidays and booked an 8 night trip to Broome instead! What an awesome decision that turned out to be. Travelled with my husband & two 14 year old daughters. Hotel staff at Seashells were so helpful and friendly - particularly Jocelyn & Raely - really nothing was too much and they shared lots of local information with us which made getting about so much easier. Our apartment was spacious & very clean with kitchen & laundry facilities included, travelling with kids having these facilities makes life a lot easier. The pool was always clean & checked daily, the grounds were lovely and there is a bus just outside the resort that takes you all over Broome. Weather was incredible - although it was the wet season there was no rain - high humidity but everything is airconditioned. Hired a 4 wheel drive & drove 200kms to Cape Leveque - what a beautiful place & we could swim in the ocean as there are no stingers up there. Well worth a visit to Willie Creek Pearl Farm - once again drove ourselves and joined the tour once we got there - even saw a crocodile in the creek!
