We are in the middle of our 3 night stay in a pool view room facing the adults only pool. The room is spacious and comfortable and has a nice balcony but I would have preferred to stay on the ground floor as the verandas have your own sun lounges facing the pool. On another note - don't think you can lay flat around the pool. The lounge backs have been screwed into place to remain at one station which is a bit annoying. We ate at the sunset bar & grill which was OK but get better value for money down the road at the Divers Tavern which is just a 10 min walk. Lunch around the pool nice but a bit pricey

There is only one hotel-resort in Broome which is right on Cable Beach with sunset views, and its this place. You simply need to accept that its pricey, but enjoy what its got. The grounds are huge but beautifully laid out and maintained, and there is a good spread of accommodation for oldies with no kids, and also for families. The accommodation style and feel is casual tropical with choices of individual bungalows through to regular suites. If you are an oldie wanting peace and quiet, the better rooms are on the western side of the resort near the adults pool, or better still, in the Bougainville wing which has the sunset views out over the water (its worth paying for these). There's a large pool and activity area for kids in the central part of resort.
As far as food goes, breakfast is a real winner. The self serve buffet is well done and of a good standard, but best of all, the dining area looks out directly over the sea. We had two evening meals at the Resort, at their Sunset Bar & Grill which was OK without being remarkable, and also at the Thai Pearl which was very, very good. Not a huge menu but fine Thai food (toned down just a bit for western tastes). The alcohol at the resort is rather expensive, so if you can be bothered, there's a hotel 500 metres down the road where you can pick up drinks to have back on your balcony.
If you want something a bit different, there's a cafe/restaurant directly across the road which sits right on the beach where you can also get quite good takeaway fish and chips.
Look, Broome is all about Cable Beach, and Cable Beach Club is all about feel and location, location, location. At least once, its worth digging deep and experiencing a bit of time here.

Room Tip: The Bougaunville wing has views of the sunset over the water

We stayed for 2 nights at Cable Beach in July. As our stay was immediately following 5 nights at Eco Beach, we found the larger resort feel refreshing. However, I don't think we would have enjoyed staying there for more than 3 or 4 nights.

We stayed in a standard room which was nice and adequate, although a bit noisy when the people above us were walking around in their rooms. We had a garden facing room which was nice and private (room 214) and even had wallabies hanging around much to the delight of our 2 year old.

Although, the style of the resort is not necessarily my cup of tea, it was nice and clean. The family pool was good with a shady kiddie pool connected to a larger pool for bigger kids. It is a resort well catered to young families with a big playground area, mini-golf, tennis courts and activities for kids.

We didn't use the adults only pool, but it didn't look very special as it was confined inside the resort with no ocean views or anything.

Good access to the beach and Sunset Beach cafe is a great place to be for a bit of sunset viewing.

The food at the resort is ok. The breakfast buffet was average, the lunch menu by the pool is ok. We also tried the thai place for dinner one night which was ok. Dining options around the resort is quite limited, so be prepared to catch a cab out to town if you want to venture out of the resort.

Overall this hotel is ok. Only hotel in Broome which has location location for sunsets, which means they have this sown up. Rooms on the ocean side are out dated and need refurbishing. Adults pool a big plus. Food is average and I believe over priced. Grog is where you need to bring your money and patience. At the sunset bar I was TOLD to stand in a queue of 8 people in the sun to purchase my wine. After my long wait and handing out $67 I went to find the bar/floor manager to tell him that the bar attendant needed help/assistance, as the queue was growing. He TOLD me there was another bar I could use !!. Wrong, he should have helped his customers. Wine is charge at restaurant costs (no table service), the man in front of me asked 4 times for wine they did not have in stock. Last time I bought grog here. Most staff in bar/restaurant area are pack packers.

Room Tip: Buy grog in Broome, not at sunset bar.

We stayed for 1 week in August 2012 then again in July 2013, and it was just as wonderful on the 2nd visit. It's not OTT 5 star - not the newest or most luxurious but it has such a special feel to the place - relaxed, calming and stylish. The bungalows are wonderful - very clean, comfortable and again with the special Cable Beach/ Broome laid back charm. Pool is fantastic as is pool-side service. The 3 resort restaurants are all excellent - you'd expect at least 1 hat apiece if they were in Sydney. Thai Pearl was my favourite for casual, Club was more special & refined whilst Bar & Grill has an awesome view with still sensational food.
I know you can do it cheaper in Fiji or Bali but not with the same wonderful, special vibe & you get to see some very special parts of your own country - awesome, love it and we will keep coming back! Also spa was great.

Our first stay at Cable Beach has been very pleasant. The accommodation although comfortable could have been a little more updated as it is a five star resort.
The gardens are well kept and give the ambience of peace, they are quite beautiful.
Breakfast was included at the Sunset Bar this was good but it was always the same never any variation in the seven days we were there.
Dinners at night were always booked out in all the restaurants at the resort so if we did not book ahead and especially for the Thai restaurant we missed out. This was a problem as Cable beach is quite a way from the town of Broome one would need a car.
The gym at the resort was basic it could have been in a bigger room and had more machines.
The adult pool was very nice.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the adult pool, it was quiet.

We especially liked the resort location with its proximity to the beach. The well maintained gardens offered tranquil areas to sit and relax. Our room was large and spacious with great bed and good linen. Wifi access at the room was sporadic and slow. Seeking a relaxing time we specifically selected accommodation at the adults-only Ocean Pool. Unfortunately the Department of Education School Camp is right next door. Even with the doors closed it was annoyingly noisy at times as children shouted and cheered early in the morning (7am) and late in the evenings.

Room Tip: When booking a pool studio ask for one on the ground level where one can walk out onto the lawn and...
